Well, using the same logic that puts Missouri is in the South (according to some Scoopers), Kentucky is in the Midwest.

Marquette has not been in the Midwest Regional bracket since 2003. MU played in Indianapolis and Minneapolis in the Regional Final. The NCAA has put MU in other regions since then, with Cleveland and KY the three closest drives. UWM has scored more Midwest Regional sites since then.

Simple answer. Yes.  ;D

Dated a girl who was from the southern part of Missouri. No doubt whatsoever, her descriptions of her childhood and the town she was from painted a full picture of the South.

Just like many people think Florida isn't part of the South because of metropolitan areas like Orlando, Miami, and Tampa, when you are in the rural parts of the state, it is full on South. She painted a similar picture of Missouri.

If you're suggesting places like Cape Girardeau, I agree.  But we don't define Illinois by Cairo, Metropolis, or Carbondale.  Florida is interesting.  The northern part of the state is absolutely the south.  Tampa and especially Miami, not so much, at least culturally.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

When I was interviewing for my first job here in Texas, I asked the search committee about what cultural differences I could expect moving from the Midwest to the South.

Their response? "Oh honey, you're not moving to the south. You're moving to Texas."

Seems like a lot of places like to not think of themselves as part of the south.

Then the committee thinks Marquette is located on the West Coast as we played out there almost as much as in the East or Midwest.
We are in Michigan Midwest, hey?
Goal is National Championship

Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers
