RPI will still be a factor, no doubt. That said, our RPI is okay. When you consider our top-50 record, our computer rankings, and past history, it's definitely good enough. If they use RPI as a major factor for seeding, we could be anywhere from the 10-12 line. But when you consider all the factors, we're okay. They let Syracuse in with that awful RPI last year, we don't have anything to worry about.

I took " RPI colored decisions" to mean things like top 50 RPI wins.....top 100 RPI wins... losses outside the top 100......etc

I agree they are in..but..the elephant in the room is..if they decide to seed the BE teams by RPI..MU is 7th..COULD mean Dayton.

Sure, and as I noted yesterday, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I understand that we all want to play on Thursday/Friday, but playing in Dayton doesn't prevent that from happening. I think we're better than almost any team that would join us in Dayton, and it would likely mean an 11 or 12 seed that gives a more favorable route to the Sweet 16 than would playing on the 7/10 or 8/9 lines.

Go to Dayton, win as a 12-seed play-in, then get a 5 and a 4 (or 13) to get to the second weekend. Giggidy.

I don't disagree necessarily. It's not really going to Dayton in general that I fear, it's LOSING in Dayton I want no part of. If a win in Dayton was guaranteed, I'd say bring it on, but as we know, it's not. Granted, I don't want them to lose Thursday or Friday either, but losing on Tuesday or Wednesday just would feel so much different. I mean they'd be home and the season would be over before Thursday-Friday even started. Two at large teams go home after Tuesday-Wednesday. But after Thursday-Friday, 32 teams are home. Just a whole different feel to it for me anyway. Kind of would take the excitement about them being in tournament away, you know??

Not sure I agree. Kansas State and Wake could easily be in Dayton and according to Pomeroy we would be basically a toss up against either.

Could we win in Dayton? Sure....but I don't view it as anything more then a coin flip. This MU team has proved it can beat or lose to almost anyone.....depends on matchups.....I think we would have a very difficult time with virtually any of the teams we might see in Dayton.

But you take what you get......hopefully some of the better guys from the bracket project are right and we are well clear of Dayton.

Yup.  We're talking 11/11 matchups typically don't have one team having a huge advantage over the other.  The teams we'd see would be roughly the quality of a Seton Hall or Providence.

Honestly, if you are a 6 seed, and you end up having to play MU/Providence/Hall or Xavier, you have to be thinking you got screwed a bit.  Especially with Dayton, Arkansas, Wichita State and VCU all slated as 9 seeds.  I think most 6-seeds would far rather play any of those 9 seeds than the BE teams.
