One of the more interesting thing about the bubble is how Marquette and a bunch of its opponents have all crammed together near the 10 and 11 seed lines. Bracketmatrix currently ranks them as Seton Hall, Marquette, Xavier, Providence, and Vanderbilt (hasn't been updated since Xavier's loss and Vandy's win). Here are the resumes for the various teams:

Seton Hall

SOS: 40
NCSOS: 220

Best Wins: @Butler (14), Creighton (25), South Carolina* (44)
Worst Losses: @St. John's (129), Stanford* (101), @Marquette (59)
Mini-Conference Record: 4-3

Marquette
Record: 19-12 (10-8)
RPI: 59
KP: 29
SOS: 49
NCSOS: 191
Top 50: 7-7
Top 100: 9-10
Best Wins: NOVA (1), @Creighton (25), @Xavier (34)
Worst Losses: @St. John's (129), @Georgetown (108), Pittsburgh* (73)
Mini-Conference Record: 4-4

Xavier
Record: 21-13 (10-8)
RPI: 34
KP: 38
SOS: 13
NCSOS: 20
Top 50: 4-9
Top 100: 8-13
Best Wins: Butler* (14), @Creighton (25), Wake Forest (39)
Worst Losses: @Colorado (96), Marquette (59), @Marquette (59)
Mini-Conference Record: 2-4

Providence
Record: 20-12 (10-8)
RPI: 56
KP: 56
SOS: 46
NCSOS: 186
Top 50: 6-8
Top 100: 8-9
Best Wins: @Creighton (25), Butler (14), Xavier (34)
Worst Losses: @Depaul (236), @Boston College (217), St. John's (129)
Mini-Conference Record: 4-2

Vanderbilt
Record: 19-14 (10-8)
RPI: 33
KP: 31
SOS: 1
NCSOS: 1
Top 50: 6-7
Top 100: 11-13
Best Wins: @Florida (10), Florida (10), Florida* (10)
Worst Losses: @Mizzou (254), Tennessee (82), Ole Miss (75)
Mini-Conference Record: 0-1

Personally, if I had to rank these resumes (not considering head to head), I would put them Vanderbilt, Marquette, Seton Hall, Xavier, Providence. I am no expert, definitely just personal opinion.

But if you ranked them by their head to head records against each other it would be: Providence, Seton Hall, Marquette, Xavier, Vanderbilt....almost the opposite.

I don't know if they would consider how well each team played against each other, because if you look at the biggest margins of victory in the mini-conference:

Marquette vs. Vanderbilt: MU by 24
Providence @Xavier: X by 24
Xavier @ Marquette: MU by 22
Xavier @ Providence: PROV by 12
Marquette @ Xavier: MU by 11
Xavier @ Seton Hall: HALL by 7
Seton Hall vs. Marquette: HALL by 6
Marquette @ Providence: PROV by 4
Seton Hall @ Providence: PROV by 4
Marquette @ Seton Hall: HALL by 3
Seton Hall @ Xavier: X by 2
Providence @ Marquette: PROV by 1
Seton Hall @ Marquette: MU by 3 (in OT)
Providence @ Seton Hall: HALL by 2 (in OT)

Most of these games were close, Marquette owns 3/5 of the double digit victories and wasn't on the receiving end of any. I have no idea if that matters or not, probably not. Just an observation.

All this to say, it will be interesting to see how and if the committee takes head to head matchups into account.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Recalling they've said in the past that if it comes down to 2 teams for 1 spot, or 2 teams for PIG vs. no PIG, head-to-head is considered if applicable. So probably not, but if it came down MU vs. Vanderbilt, Xavier or PC for PIG vs. no PIG, could matter.
GO WARRIORS!
