Creighton righted the ship.    And now we have the two teams that were in the top 10 in January facing off for the Big East tourney.   I guess I am rooting for Nova to make sure they get a #1 seed.    I believe they have earned it, but I don't want to give the committee an excuse.

I'm still not sure who to pull for in this one. On one hand, a Creighton win will put to bed the perception that they weren't a good win when Marquette beat them. On the other hand, I like being the only team not named Butler to beat Villanova.

Honestly, I think Villanova will curb stomp them so it won't matter much what we think!

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Rooting for Villanova to get the #1 overall seed. Though this year, seed locations seem to be locked in on the top line, with Nova in the East, UNC in the South, Kansas in the Midwest, and Gonzaga out West.

Anyone be willing to hop on the gameday chat for this one?

Nova is a lock for the #1 overall seed. Much less just getting a 1 seed
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

+1 on #1

Some teams change defenses up from possession to possession to throw opponents' offenses off. Then there's Nova, who changes up defenses within a possession.

Going from the 3/4 court 1-3-1 simply to take some time off the shot clock to picking up a man once the ball is over half court is easy enough. But now they're going matchup 2-3 zone and passing players off to different zones as they move around the court, to suddenly staying with the man that is in their zone throughout the rest of the possession half way through it.

I think their lack of depth and ability to score on the block catches up to them in the Tournament (I know they didn't run their offense through Ochefu, but when the floor got spread last year he'd seal his man above him and they'd throw it over the top for an easy layup...I don't see Reynolds or Pachal having that ability), but someone is going to need to beat them. As battle tested as they come. Hart is as clutch as they come. Nothing goes their way, yet they're still only down 1 and somehow, against a tenacious rebounding team, there's the 6'5" Hart getting an and one tip in to win the game last night. Mental toughness.

Nova is so good. I still have no idea how we beat them.

Nova up by like 6 with Jenkins on bench with two fouls for most of half.  Wright sees something with CU's play and decides to put Jenkins back in with two fouls.  Boom, Nova steps on CU's throat and not letting up.  Just the right move by a quality coach.

4-36 from 3.

6-34 is the correct number, but still, Nova has only lost this year when they his 6 or less 3s.  So, I guess that's the key.  Hope they have a bad shooting day, and you have a chance* to win.

* Note: It's still not a guarantee, Nova went 5-19 on 3s against SHU yesterday.

Edit:  Hmmm...the three games they lost, they hit exactly 6 3s.  I haven't scrubbed their box scores to see if those are the only times they've hit 6 though.

Hart may be just a role player in the NBA, but, wow, is he ever a great college player.

If Nova holds on, the tournament went about as well as it could have from a conference perspective. The 4 bubble teams did what was necessary to lock in their spots (basically, don't get embarrassed for everyone but Xavier), Creighton re-establishes themselves as a legit threat to make some noise in the NCAA, and Nova takes the #1 overall seed tomorrow.

This game has been the only blow out in the BET. CU with two finals since they joined, but is way overmatched. MU only has made only once semifinal since 2006. Jealous.

Yup, you know someone will probably reach for him and he may be labeled a "bust" but he is so damn good right now.

2.

Smoked by Georgetown in 2010, lost to Pitt in 2008.

I should have known better than to trust a Georgetown rag...that Pitt game was the "Len Elmore Game" if I remember (New York mentioned in every sentence).

We were playing with house money tonight, although despite coming into today up we're probably breaking even after this showing.

Nova is simply better at every level. Coaching and players.

Really would have loved a win today coupled with a Wiscy loss, we might've snuck into a semi-protected seed and got a bid in Milwaukee. Won't happen now.

Ehh. I'm not sold Creighton re-established themself for any kind of run. For a BET, they got about as easy of a path to the finals as you could ask for. Providence okay but not as good as Marquette made them look this year. Then Xavier who just isn't that good.

I'm really hoping Butler shows up for the NCAAs, because otherwise I think Nova is going to entirely carry the BE in the NCAAs once again. Could see something like a 5-7 NCAA Tournament record for the league.

Yikes. Doubt that. It all depends on matchups, but this BE has the ability to win some games. Had the best record of any conference in Non con. Obviously X and CU aren't the same teams without Sumner and Mo, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see some BE teams in the S16.
