I believe our current RPI is 58?

We are 8-7 vs top 50. Thaaaats one of the top 15 in the country in wins and games played vs top 50 teams.

People continue to not acknowledge this stat. It will get us in.

Coach Lavin says this the best part of our NCAA resume.  Looking forward to tonights developments in the BET I think it will bolster that top 50 stat.

That you continue to cite what Coach Lavin says is hilarious. And as no one in the BET will see their RPI diminish from here on out, I'm not sure how it could bolster that top-50 stat.

With Dayton losing to Davidson I think Rhode Island needs to win the A10 tournament to feel safely in. I'm not sure wins over the bonnies and Davidson can get them in.

Could be the case. Bracketmatrix has them as the last team in right now. Think Kansas State might pass them with the next update. If they drop out, I'll update.

First post updated. It was a devastating day for bid thieves. The big boys flexed their muscles and stomped out the upstarts.

We are down to a maximum of four bid thieves. One of those four is from Conference USA and I'm not convinced MTSU will get an at large and I'm less convinced they would get an at large over Marquette.

Here's the remaining bid thieves and their remaining games:

Alabama: Kentucky, Arkansas/Vanderbilt
Marshall: Middle Tennessee State
Richmond: VCU, Rhode Island/Davidson
Davidson: Rhode Island, VCU/Richmond
UCF: SMU, Cincy/UCONN
UCONN: Cincy, SMU/UCF

All of the bid thieves will be significant dogs in tomorrow's games. We might be able to put them to bed sooner rather than later.

UCF is hot. They've won their last 6 games and beat Cinci a week ago. Also, they're a unique team to play against since they have a 7'6 center.

Dawkins has a team built on transfers. He has done on nice reclamation job in a program that was a mess (including his career).

Ya i finally feel safe on this.  I guess us old timers have just seen too many things happen over the years.  Twice i have seen  MU teams be literally the last team into the tourney.  People calling MU a lock with all that could have happened 4-5-6 days ago i belive was premature.  Happy it turned out the way it did. Really interested to see what wojo does on the recruiting trail with a ncaa bid in his back pocket

The only thief left is Rhode Island, but they are no longer a "bid thief" but a "bye thief". If they win their game against VCU they cannot go to Dayton as an auto bid, so someone will have to drop a line.

We weren't in 2011 either.  We weren't in the first four that year.

You are correct. I messed that up. Believe we were the last team to get a bye.

Except, we weren't.  One of the last per some comments, but not literally the last.
