DePaul names first lay president in its 119-year history

http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20170216/NEWS13/170219914/depaul-names-first-lay-president-in-its-119-year-history#utm_medium=email&utm_source=ccb-breakingnews&utm_campaign=ccb-breakingnews-20170216

DePaul University has named A. Gabriel Esteban as the first lay president in its 119-year history, a break with tradition that follows Loyola University Chicago's move and spotlights again the budgetary and fundraising demands of academic leadership.

Esteban comes from being president of Seton Hall University, a job he's had at the South Orange, N.J., school since 2011.

DePaul, the nation's largest Catholic university, with 23,100 students, will add to the share of Catholic colleges and universities--more than 70 percent--headed by lay presidents. Last May, Loyola chose Jo Ann Rooney, as its first lay president.

DePaul finally got lay-ed.     Wave of the future.    Not enough qualified priests.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.
