I know it is not basketball related but he is going to make the announcement on Feb. 18

Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

He is worth over $200 million and a huge supporter of the school (95 grad).  High profile and establishing himself as a outstanding entrepreneur.  Young guy, still in his 40s

He can be a great ambassador of the school?

The Marcus Lemonis School of Business in the center of innovation alley in a few years?

It's tough not to like this guy. I was a big fan of the show before I even realized he was an alum. It would be awesome to see his name on a building in the future.

Agreed, hard not to like him. He shows well for the school and is involved in good causes. Win win for MU

This is excellent news. Looking forward to the details.

I hope Marcus can use his influence to help Marquette diversify itself in several areas, including lower income opportunities, race, etc...MU has a long way to go in those areas imo.

Marcus was and is a big MU fan and supporter, school and sports. He isn't a diagram plays or be at every game, but he is a good, casual, sports fan.  It doesn't hurt that he was a student during the 94 Sweet 16 run.  Those types of memories can stick with you.

Looking forward to his non-athletic projects as well.

Beginning on Friday, Feb. 17, in conjunction with the National Marquette Day pep rally, the challenge will run for two months. Lemonis will donate up to $1.5 million of his own funds, matching gifts made by donors during the challenge with the goal of starting a student-run business program. The program, called the Marcus Lemonis Pay The Profit Forward Program, will be housed within Marquette's College of Business Administration and provide initial funding for students to pursue their business ideas.

"I am eternally grateful for the guidance and development that Marquette University provided to me as I embarked on my journey," Lemonis said. "It is my honor to support the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders on the same campus where it all began for me.

Last year he did a similar type of challenge on a smaller scale.

I believe this is all building to the Marcus Lemonis School of Business.

I will probably throw a few shekels his way.
