Definitely a good read. Goes to show perception doesn't always equal reality.

MU B2002

I am more interested in our defensive stats ATO, as it seems the opposing team "always" scores.

The opposing team always scores anyway, hard to tell the difference.

I get that.   Throw in some Jesus and bad jokes...

Isn't Marquette's PPP much higher overall than out of timeouts?  I guess that is due to turnovers created and other related transition points pushing up the overall PPP.

It would be interesting to  compare our PPP ATO versus a half-court set PPP (i.e. no transition PPP).

I thought the same Dano. Made me wonder if timeout scenarios benefit the defense more.

Marcus92

If our PPP is lower coming out of a timeout, that might make some sense — think about moments late in the half or in the game, when you're trying to get a score and use all available time on the clock. In instances like these, the clock can work against efficient offense.

Possibility of a shorter clock, defense is always set, and the most likely time a defensive change or adjustment will be made. A lot of reasons ATO situations are more difficult to score in.

Folks,,,

Were people thinking Buzz ran good out of bounds plays? I recall a lot of "lob the ball into the back court" plays where it seemed like the goal was just to get the ball in play.

We'd hold our breath hoping that they could inbound the ball at all, under Buzz!   Was never pretty or easy
