A few brackets I've seen have us matching up with VT. Personally, I would love that. Love to give buzz a punch in the mouth. After the game, he can go back to Texas, cause he may end up wanting to leave there too. See if he gets hired at Texas... Buzz, you screwed yourself over!

I sure hope we have 5 threads everytime there's a new bracket released with possible match-ups.

Buzz has a very good NCAA record. More likely MU gets a punch in the jaw from Virginia Tech than the other way around.

NCAA does enjoy creating some intriguing first round matchups.  In fact, I sometimes wonder if they spend more time on that than the seeding.  I also expect them to send us someplace terrible like Tulsa or SLC.

You don't watch much ball. Tech is one of the softest teams in America.

Proof?

Completely meaningless speculation.

It assumes all teams will stay in the same position for the next 5 weeks.

I actually think they avoid them more often than not. But with a limited field, there are bound to be some coincidental storylines.

I have not watched Virginia Tech. I just thought that wishing to play Virginia Tech, so we could beat them was maybe something we should take for granted.
Nothing wrong with wanting to beat Buzz, but I am not sure I would just assume we are going to win. The one advantage to playing Virginia Tech is that neither team has players with NCAA tournament experience and that would be preferable to playing a team that was in the tournament last year.

I think Reinhardt played in the tourney last year with USC.

I probably work at some point during the first week of the tourney. But I tell you what, you can bet your ass I would
1)call in sick to watch any MU game in tourney this year.
2) call in sick and travel to any MU game if they are playing Tech, Indy, ND or UW.

I don't assume we are going to beat anybody. And I am one of the biggest optimists on this board.

I agree. Lunardi has more "interesting" match ups in his brackets than the committee does.
