Glad Marquette could help the cause. Crazy night in college hoops.

MUBB tweeted out the last time MU beat two top 10 teams in a row and number 1 was when Wade was playing.

Have we beat two top 10s in a row without #1 since 2003?

No. Out of curiosity, I checked how many times we have beaten ranked opponents in back to back games. We have played ranked opponents in back to back games 30 times since 2003. Out of those 30 opportunities, we have only ever won both games on 5 occasions:

05-06: We beat #17 Notre Dame and #9 Pittsburgh
06-07: We won @#24 UConn and vs. #21 West Virginia
10-11: We beat #18 Xavier and #11 Syracuse in the tournament
12-13: We beat #12 Syracuse and #21 Notre Dame
16-17: We won @#7 Creighton and vs. #1 Villanova

This season is definitely the most impressive. Though the ones in the tournament in 2011 were probably more meaningful

Agreed and even these ones stack up pretty nicely with 2011 in the meaningful category as well. Obviously getting that forsure sweet16 especially as a bit of a hump for us was big.

But these two wins helped get us into a position we ain't seen in years.

Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....
