Creighton can freakin' light it up on offense.  Fastest team I can remember.  I actually thought our D did a reasonable job.  We play D that well against a normal team and we'll win a lot of games.

This is a message board ... if Kris Jenkins hit a 35 footer at the buzzer to win the National Championship for MU this board will still be full of bitching and moaning.

No they wouldn't.

Last team to score 100 on them at home was Evansville in double OT. 07-08 season.

I thought slowing  down the offense ,holding the ball and then having to take a poor shot as the clock ran out contributed to the BJs coming back late

ChitownSpaceForRent

Always great beating Creighton, by far my least favorite team in the Big East. Can't stand McDermott or their fans.

3.  Patton needs to go pro.   I don't want to have to play  him next year.

Wouldn't mind seeing Patton play 41 games in Milwaukee next year instead of one.

Agree.  The desire to burn an extra 5-10 seconds of the clock is not worth having to initiate the offense with < 10 seconds on the shot clock and tossing up a hero ball prayer.  Would like to see Wojo change this strategy.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

I was delighted by the play of the team today. A very enjoyable game to watch.

Moose will opt in, we have Henson, Plumlee, and Thon...no room for a 5th 5.

Awesome game today by the whole team. Hell, even Wojo had a great game today.

10.  Revel in it.

So many Scoopers are not very good at that. Sports are supposed to be fun ... and this game was a blast. Our MU group in Charlotte got together and had a great time watching all those 3's swish through and all those blocks by Luke!

Wholeheartedly agree. Keep attacking. Least we hit FTs.

If a team needs to be "coached-up" any coach would take Defense over Offense...so much of defense is "an attitude" and we need to STILL grow into that!  Confidence in your teammates is the start...and I see this as a STRONG starting point! WE ARE!!! MARQUETTE!!!  ENJOY the feeling with Nova around the corner!

Not very often that "holding the ball" and "contributed to the BJs coming" can be used in the same sentence without it being sexual.

MUEng92

Ok, let me put my flak jacket on before I type this...is it possible that the reason MU gave up so many points could possibly have been somewhat influenced by the remote possibility that Creighton is one of the best offensive teams in the country? Even though they were missing their brst player.  DUCK AND COVER!!

Box.     HC, KR, JJ combine for 11 of MU's 14 turnovers, but also scored 49 points.     So, on  balance...

Marquette actually won a rebounding battle.

Marquette wins a national championship because the other team made a 35 footer to the wrong basket at the buzzer... hell yeah I'd be bitching.  Only natty I might see in my lifetime and it comes on the back of the other team's epic blunder?  No thanks.  I'd rather he miss the shot and take my chances in OT.

I understand wanting to take time off the clock, but a good shot is a good shot.  Having people stand around 15 seconds and then rush a bad shot as the shot clock is expiring doesn't seem like a smart strategy.  Marquette got away with it today.

Imagining a team winning on a mistake like that had me laughing way too hard. The butt fumble would cease to exist if that happened.

tower912

Agreed.  One thing I thought they could do and didn't is, with no pressure, is to hold the ball for 4 seconds before passing it in.  Conversely, JJ twice could have settled for a corner 3 and instead took it to the rim.  So, some bad, some good.
