Before the conference play begins, who do you thn has been the best conference in nov-dec games ?

Marquette84

One interesting point is not the performance of the teams at the top, but the teams at the bottom.  In the six conferences, just three teams have losing records in non-conference play--two of them are in the Big East (DePaul and Cincy).  Kentucky of the SEC is the third.  Northwestern of the Big 10 is .500.

Not that DePaul or Cincy would contend for an NCAA bid, but for example, Nebraska is going to help their B12 brethern much more with a 10-2 record than DePaul can help us with their 4-7.

I would also suggest that Mike Tranghese should ban home-and-home series with A10 teams.  This year, we've probably single-handedly given UMass, URI and Dayton the basis for an legit at-large bids over Big East teams.  Last year the A10 got two bids.  If they get 4 this year (UMass, URI, Dayton and Xavier), those two extras have to come from somewhere.

And yes, I know we have a tournament next year where we might face Dayton.  But at least we don't have a return game.
