Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

Maybe I'm in a minority here, but I hope they pick a style and run with it.  I am definitely not a fan of having uniforms of different styles.  Maybe one special, but that's it.  I feel like consistent branding/identity is important.

I don't know if you are in the minority, but if you feel this way you must not really not like what MU has done since Al started making a statement with the uni's.

I personally like shaking it up while still throwing a nod to our history.  Makes us unique but not in the Oregon/Baylor crazy way.

Our brand is our uniqueness though.

And that is great.  Have one unique uniform set in several variations.  To my knowledge -- and I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong -- even when Marquette was undeniably on the forefront of uniform design, they didn't mix a bunch of different uniform styles in a single season.  For the last several years, Marquette has had an awesome -- and unique -- uniform set.  I'm hoping they've done it again.

It would be "unique" for Marquette to wear blue one game, green the next, then purple, then mix and match.  It would also be awful.  I would prefer they be unique because they have a great new design.  Not because they have no coherent design identity from one game to the next.

It's been a few years since the current uniforms were unique, in case you hadn't noticed it started with Cuse ripping off our design and then the last time that Jordan did the alterations every school seemed to have a similar version.

Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

You may not like it for aesthetic reasons, but it doesn't have much to do with branding.  Anyway, I am sure the logo is going to be on each of them.

I absolutely love what MU has done for those years.  That doesn't mean I want them all in the same year.  Based on the video, I'm totally excited that the new uniforms are going to be a nod to the '71 uniforms (with, maybe, the 1977 name below the number thrown in).  Fantastic.  Let's rock those for a couple years in various color schemes.  Then, let's move to the 1969 uniforms with the number in the circle.  I'd love to see those resurrected.

I just feel that if we have all of them going in one season, it will seem exactly like unique "in the Oregon/Baylor crazy way."

I hope you understand that many recruits *like* the Oregon / Baylor way.  In fact, that is pretty much what Oregon's "brand" is.  (Managed by MU alum Craig Pintens BTW.)

I think that's a semantic argument.  And it's quite possible I'm the one using words incorrectly.  I view it as a branding/identity thing like Oregon/Baylor are wild and Penn State is plain.  Probably just not expressing it right.  I think it would just seem really odd to have completely different uniform sets/looks.  I'd like us to be unique because we have a design unlike others -- not because we have a hodgepodge of designs.

I agree with you completely.  I think they kept it around a little too long.  I should have said they had a unique uniform...before everyone and their brother started ripping them off.

Absolutely.  But even though I think Oregon is a little crazy, I think they still have a coherent feel to their designs.  Lots of wild colors and combos, but seemingly variations on a theme.  I still feel like that is fundamentally different from wearing the '71 bumble bees one game, the '69 circles the next, the '81 camos next and the '77 bibs the next.  One has a consistent design concept throughout.  The other is just a hodgepodge of throw backs.  YMMV

If they did it for this one year, where it's all about the history of our program, I'd be ok with it. I doubt it is though.

This may seem inconsistent with everything I've been saying, but I could totally get behind the idea of having a new, unique uniform set, but wearing some throwbacks for big games.  Wear the new unis for the vast majority of the games, but have 3-4 special nights with throwback uniforms (e.g., '69, '71, '77).  Just not as part of a "regular" rotation.

But, like you, I doubt it.  I'm guessing they're going to have a specific uniform set.  The video looks like it's inspired by the '71 uniform.  And that's incredible.

Btws, I fully expect some old timers to be brought to tears seeing a modern interpretation of the untucked and bumbles on the same jersey

I'm curious if our floor design needs to change with our new uniforms.  We just got the new design last year, so I would guess not.

If there really are 6 this year, I hope they reserved one for Bo to design.

Spotcheck Billy

If there are 6 different uniforms, Wojo will probably do the Duke thing where they have a specific uni for games on Sundays or something along those lines.

bradley center bat

Maybe they will have something special versus Vandy and St. John's.

My guess is one primary design in four colors (white, gold, navy blue, valour blue) then maybe two "special" uniforms. Could be a military style uniform for the game in Annapolis, a throwback for Al's Night, or something special for either Wisconsin or the MLK marathon.
