God told me to declare early for the NBA draft
« on: September 08, 2016, 12:49:29 PM »
A fascinating article about one of the least-known early entrants for the 2016 NBA draft.

In his freshman season at Southeast Missouri State, Tony Anderson averaged 5 points and 2 rebounds in just under 15 minutes a game. He was not invited to the NBA combine and went undrafted.

OH! I know how this kid feels.
Lucky for me, God told me to call in sick to work for the next few days and enjoy some hiking, whiskey, end of season fishing, and sleeping in.

Interesting. I remember looking at the list of early entrants and seeing his name. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why a bench player from one of the worst teams in D1 would declare for the draft. Now I know.

Obviously, it was God who gave that water healing power.

$100,000 signing bonus, and not a publicity stunt, come on.  God pleased Tebow!

One must not believe in God in order to believe God.

Good for this god fearing young man.  I'm sure it's for the best and all part of god's plan for him.  Sometimes we just don't understand why god does what god tells us what to do, but it always works out for the best.  And when it doesn't work out, it is simply because we don't understand the bigger picture of god's plan.  Isn't that how the circular argument goes, or something like that...?

seriously, it kills me when I hear people say stuff like that about tragic events.  Here, it isn't tragic of course, but unfortunately this young guy gave up an opportunity at getting a free degree.  Maybe it will in fact work out for him, but he sure has made it harder on himself, and he has started to stack the odds against himself. Too bad, I feel for him, hope he gets his head on straight and some solid advice from those around him.

I doubt the team would want him back, but the NCAA should be able to make some kind of an exception if he suffers from some delusional mental illness in an outlier case like this...

He, as in God?  Truth is God invented the use of teal because He couldn't tell when Scoopers were being sarcastic and when they weren't.

God invented teal for the slower Scoopers - he never uses it himself.

Truth be told, I will use teal on occasion... but only when the sarcasm is ironic.

God's funny sometimes.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.
