TAMU, Knower of Ball

#25
Al
Buzz
Crean
O'Neill

Partially because I think they are the four best MU Coaches. Mostly because I want to see CBB freak out that Buzz is in the same group as Al and the rest of scoop freak out that Crean is in the same group as Al.

I can't remember if it was Ammo or Kinsella, but I swear we lost a game because one of them committed a foul on a made free throw.  That alone should put you on a monument.

That was Ammo - dumbest foul I've ever seen an MU player commit.

Couldn't possibly have been dumber than the end of the Pitt vs. Butler NCAA Tournament game in one of the 2 years Butler went to the National Title game.

Take that frickin Hillbilly down off your rock! Real Warriors don't surrender. They fight harder and win national championships.

Same for Crean. Get some dynamite and blast his greasy mug off your rock. Let them build a monument to him down in Bugtussel, IN.

As for O'Neill, what did he win? He turned us around but .....

I debated that.  McNeal was a volume shooter who could get steals, but he would do about three really dumb things a game.  Zar was a beast his senior year and was a mentor to Jimmy Butler.   I went with James because he did what great point guards do by making Matthews, McNeal and Zar better.  Plus, he would have at least been #3 on the scoring list if not for his injury.

I also considered Butler over Crowder because Butler was here for three years, but Crowder put the team on his back his senior year like few others and earned BEAST POY.

Just to the last paragraph Crowder had DJO who was actually the leading scorer on that team. To each their own I guess I just missed the greatness of Dom James
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

You boys need to study your history.

If our limit is 4 and we include non players then 2 spots are already accounted for in Al and NPOY and NCAA champion Lee. Then 2/4 including Lucas,  Bo, Wade and George.  No other player in this century is in that category.

Not even Jake? He hit that big 4 vs Syracuse, you know!

That would have been his freshman year.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Can't have an MURushmore without Al!

I just don't particularly care what happened before I was fan. Not that I don't respect it, I just don't get all excited about what happened in the 70s or 80s.  I gave my nod with Al.

I understand.  But that's like Mt. Rushmore with LBJ or George HW Bush (playing both sides so we don't go political) rather than Lincoln.  Just sayin'.

For my 'this century' I'll go:

Wade
Diener
Jerel
Crowder

Could be persuaded on Jimmy and Dom.  I went the way I did in part because of MU lifetime records, conference awards and to a lesser extent post collegiate continuing impact.

Yep.  Agree that Al and Butch are pretty clear, and I chose Bo and DWade for the others.

I did not include non-players. Obviously, Al is above all. I still argue that with only players, its Lee, Wade, Lucas and Bo.

If Al is elevated above them all, then Lee and Wade are obvious. I'd go with Bo for the final position because of his importance to our national championship run.
