Broken yolk has an amazing breakfast burrito.

The size of you head.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I understand your disdain.

Trust me on this.

Believe it or not, you can get an outstanding Mexican breakfast in MN at the Woodbury Cafe .  Manager is Mexicano.  Chilaquilles are outstanding. Huevos rancheros is great.

Some of the best Mexican breakfast I've had was in Dallas. Eggs and I. Huevos Rancheros.... Near Gleneagles, I believe, near Addison.

'83 to '86.  Lucci's (I think on 25th or maybe 27th; don't know--never went there).

Marquette Special:  $6.99 for a 14" MSO pizza, quart of pop and breadsticks.

They delivered.  And they took freakin' checks.  Even my checks.

Never tried it sober, but second to a chimi from Amigo's for me (Chili, of course, is in a different, unnecessary to rate class) for post-bar food.  Third would be the Ham 'n' Egger.

Original Tombstones were pretty good as far as my college budget was concerned.

Had a roommate that cooked a Tombstone for 9 hours (passed out drunk).  12 years later the balcony apartments on 15th and Kilbourn probably still smell of burnt crust.

Cousins, Subway, Qdoba, MU Gyros, Papa John's, Dog Haus, Broken Yolk, Sal's, Real Chili. I think that was legitimately the only food on campus when I was there. Sounds like I got the worst of the worst. Angelo's had closed, same with Ziggy's, no Sobleman's on campus yet. Don't think I'm forgetting anything but might be.

Angelos closed after my freshman year and sobelmans opened summer going into my junior year so not sure that your list makes sense unless you were only on campus for a year. I'd also add Starbucks to that list, I know it's not unique but I spent wayyy too much money on food there my freshman year.

Also why does nobody count ms Katie's when listing spots?

My buddy (though not my roommate) did that once at Campus Town. Entire hallway of the fourth floor was eff'd. He fell asleep on the couch. 4 guys sleeping upstairs (nh) never woke up until morning.

So I'm not going to read through most of this thread but a few points, Home Run Inn is super good frozen pizza so I approve; also if you live in Milwaukee check out the pizza at Anodyne at their Bay View location.  Anodyne is a coffee place for those who don't know, and the one location in Bay View has a wood fire oven in the middle of the shop and they make pizza, it's very good and worth checking out.

I don't live far from Woodbury.  I'll have to check it out some morning.

Chuck, you can get em at the holiday on radio and tamarack or kowalski's.

SERocks

What was the place across from Angelos that served up chimichangas?  They were small, made on site, ground beef, onion and cheddar, deep fried and served with a small cup of sour cream.  After bar they were the best thing ever.  And what, no mention of Ham and 'Egger?  Used to have a ball there too.....

I seem to recall that in the 83 or 84 timeframe, Wales opened up a slice place, I think next door.  It was only there for a bit before I left, and did not get much traffic.  The food at the regular Wales was much better.

There's a pic of the Wales pizza place in the '85 yearbook. Ate at Wales about once a week but only tried the pizza one time.

Mentioned both Amigos (specifically the chimi) and Ham 'n' Egger in my post!  Favorite memory of Amigos was Farley flopping his junk on some guys chips, the guy walking away disgusted, and Chris sitting down to enjoy the bounty.

Guilliano's (whatever the spelling) $2.50 for a slice and beer was heaven at 2:00 am.  I don't believe I ever ate the stuff while sober.

Might have been briefly engaged at Amigo's, but it didn't work out for either of us.

Pizza Joe's was opened for a minute when I was on campus... then became A Taste of Philly, which was SLAMMIN!!!!!

All I remember about Pizza Joe's is **someone, a freshman** puking there, in a cup, while seating with friends at a table. It overflowed.

Pizza Joe's had to become "Pizza Pi's" because of an already established "Pizza Joe's" in Madison. I always thought the name change killed the place.

No bloody = no brunch. It is a scientific impossibility to have brunch without a bloody.

Speaking of bloodies, having one now at Loggers in Hayward.

Gonna head over to Rice Lake and have a slice of morning pie at the Nook with the Ellensons.  ;)
