Agreed. Seems comfortable putting the ball on the floor after rebounds or from the top of the key. Can cross over to avoid defenders. Dribbles with his head up and looks for open guys all over the court.

His combination of size and athleticism might be an ideal fit for this team and Wojo's playing style. If he commits to Marquette, I could see him getting significant playing time (10+ mpg) in his first season.

I also think recruiting rankings don't always favor international players. Not as much scouting for these sites in Canada. Look at Shayok, I don't think he was quite top 150 but has played significant minutes for a very good Virginia team the past 2 years.

HoopsterBC

He will play more minutes than 10 a game, he might be better than Matt Heldt, and there is no 4 on the team.  Yes, they will go small but there will be times against
the better teams they will need his size.  It also takes a little pressure off Wojo for 2017, as there seems to be no player from Wisconsin good enough to get an offer.
Now he has to win a little bit and get in the tournament next year to get some publicity, the new arena in 2018 will be a huge sales tool to sell the program.

I'm sold now.  Just watched his mixtape.  Headband baby.  Welcome to town Kalif.  Enjoy your visit.

I think Heldt is going to be a serviceable 5 and will step into that position when Luke graduates.

Looks like us or Providence. 2 teams in need of a big fella. Sounds like he still wants to visit PC next weekend.

Close the deal, Wojo.

Wojo needs to close the sale with the Mom.  This is where the MU factor as being a quality institution comes into play.

Ed Cooley and Providence is tough competition.

This might come down to whether or not Bentil comes back. If he comes back, Providence will have to COOLey on one of their current players in order to make room for Young.

Position might become a factor as well. Young would play the PF and a little bit of C for Marquette. He would play all C for Providence. He would be the tallest guy on their roster.

OK so why don't we try and help Wojo out by changing our Names.  If Kalif visits this site and sees his name  in many of ours, to me it's akin to a player looking in the stands and seeing many Fans wearing his Jersey.  I think it's worth a try!

I want to be Forever Young.

I could change my handle to reflect my first name and the hope of landing a new power forward, but 'Sean Young' has far too many negative (read:  batcrap crazy) associations.

Big Daddy said Wojo was looking for a commitment Thursday.

This should be interesting. Bentil come back :)

Full game of Young. He's #13 in black. I really like his game, honestly. Disclaimer: I only watched the first half.

Can't agree with your comments.

First, on Shayok.. the kid played HS ball in flippin New Jersey, U.S.A. and played in the Nike EYBL. Not some "hidden" international guy who people didn't see a ton of.

As far as other international players.. how about the buzz on Thon Maker? How about Ben flippin Simmons?

I agree -- if there are guys who don't play any ball in the U.S., then that's one thing.. but most of these "international stars" have been seen a ton, be it global competitions, high school or the travel leagues.

The advent and evolution of social medial and technology in general pretty much precludes the possibility of a hidden gem these days.

Any of you keeners know how the visit is going so far? Has he been fit for a walking boot or pull?

Gents,

Kalif played in session 1 of the 2015 EYBL.. numbers I've got for him say: 107 Ortg, 16% usage, 14% OR%, 16%+ DR%, 2.9% blocks, 2.7% steals, 4.2 FC/32, sub-17% turnover rate

If he can log some decent minutes immediately (has the size, a''ina??), his profile fits our 2016-17 better than a Gill or some others.
