Markus Howard excited to join Marquette

Markus Howard, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound guard from Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., joined the Marquette men's basketball team by signing his national letter of intent on Wednesday morning.

Doesn't he know we just signed a 6'6" senior wing to take his spot on the roster?

The only thing I wonder is whether NCAA clearance will be an issue with Howard reclassifying to 2016.

I wouldn't expect problems.  Looks like all credits are taken care of except for one online English course, which I expect he had good guidance about.  Nice to see a hoops player taking AP courses in HS.

Herman Cain

This was a case where our quality academics at MU may have helped us. Markus is a good student and certainly had to be aware MU was a much better institution academically than the others he was considering.

I know this was a dumb comment made by whoever made it, but I feel like I don't open a thread without it being mocked.  The dead horse isn't only being beaten, but we've put him in sunglasses and dragged around a vacation and Weekend At Bernie's style.

Galway Eagle

Get this he was in 8th grade the time we made the tournament...
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

That's reassuring to hear. From the outside looking in, the NCAA clearance process is an unpredictable free-for-all.

Once he found out he couldn't qualify for admission at UW-Madison, he was all ours.
