They made no fewer than six announcements in the gate area telling people if they're in Groups 2, 3 or 4 to bring bags to the counter and they would courtesy check them because it was a full flight and there wasn't going to be enough room.  But sure enough, about a dozen people in Groups 2, 3 and 4 still carried on, got to their seats, turned around, and got upset because there was no overhead space for their bag.

Fortunately, I was in 7D (first row behind first class), so I discreetly crammed my bag up there.

BTW - If you're on an American MD-80, 7D is where it's at.  The bulkhead is only in front of 7AB & DF, so 7D has unlimited leg room.  That's the seat HE sits in... for now, any way.

Listen to the gate agents people.

I am 100% convinced that if you are going to fly commercially you must take a course of what to do and how to do it and there must be a certification test at the end. Your certification must be renewed every two years unless you complete at least 12 qualifying flights in that time period(and then you would renew every 4 years instead of 2).

Air travel is a nightmare not because of the airlines but because people are generally stupid and lazy.

Happy Friday everyone!  ;D

Wally's got a track meet in Missouri this weekend.  Maybe the fam is going to watch.

He no-heighted at his first outing this year after passing up all heights prior to 2.04 meters.  Hope he's had time to recover from basketball season and get his jumps in gear to bring Marquette an NCAA championship!
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

Nice MOMu. Scoop is such a wealth of weird yet useful life knowledge.

Count me in for the flight recert course!

But if Henry is leaving from MSP on a Friday, I would suspect it means he was not in class this week.  If he was not in class this week, ...

unless it was a Benny April fools snapshot.

What people don't know is Benny's full name is Benjamin Baraccus Zapruder

Was this actually Henry in the photo? I saw Benny's post, assumed it was a joke, and skipped the thread....but it looks like people are running with it.

Reasons I am glad I am a pilot and don't have to take commercial carriers:

1.    No ejection seat

2.    Ingesting the cumulative DNA of everyone who flew in that tube for the past 12 months

3.    The heady stew of body odor that hangs like a fog in the cabin (triple points for flights from India, Middle East, France)

4.    The arm rest hog

5.    Inhaling the "Bulgogi Delight" the guy next to you brought on board from the Korean deli in LA

6.    Arriving early into Phoenix then baking on the tarmac in a tin oven waiting for your gate to clear

7.    Middle seats

8.    The walk of shame through First Class

9.    Sitting near the shi1tters

10.  Having to use one of the sh1tters

11.  The crying baby

12.  Lost luggage

13.  Reading the In Flight Shopping mag

14.  T.S.A.

15.  Meaningless awards programs

16.  The Farter

17.  Surly flight attendants

Down with regulations, let the market decide.  Fly Emirates or Lufthansa. Oh, they don't fly in America, well then just adjust to market forces and fly what Wall Street provides.  Or fly private like all the real winners.
Mass travel is like Greyhound in the old days.

Always board group 1. Anyone notice that frontier now has plastic skinny seats with tray tables the size of a smart phone? HE probably doesn't fit in a dam seat

Yes, I noticed that about 6 months ago.  Ridiculous.  Took a picture of it and texted to my wife to remind me why I never take that airline, but was in a pinch and had no choice that day.  Worst airline in the US.  So bad.

Flew them a few months ago. For $55 round trip Chicago to Orlando I could put up with a lot.
