New York — Marquette (20-12, 8-10 Big East) will take on Xavier (26-4, 14-4) in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament at 6 p.m. Thursday at Madison Square Garden. The Golden Eagles, which are the only team to play in the quarterfinals each season since joining the conference in 2005-'06, are aiming for their third trip to the semifinals.
