"Internet rumors have Duke Boston College, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina joining revamped 20-team Big Ten."

Wait, what?

Frenns Liquor Depot

This would be crazy if it happened.  I thought someone on here said the grant of rights clause of the ACC's contract would cause this to never occur though.

This is correct plus ND would never give up its independence

There is nothing I see on the web or Twitter about this.

GTech, Carolina, and Virginia have always been in the Big Ten rumors.  Boston College is definitely new to the conference carousel talk.

Moving toward the Big Ten2?  Just keep adding....

That would be awesome. To bad Pittsburgh and Syracuse.

Herman Cain

$50 million exit fee per school from ACC. Good walking around  money for Buzz and Company left behind . Plus as mentioned ND has their own TV contract. So obviously this is not happening.

I think the expansion landscape is done for the next few years .  U Conn and Cincy anxious to move anywhere anyone will take them but not likely to occur any time soon.

When I hear stuff like this , it makes me feel even better that we created a like minded stable conference. Just need a couple of teams to step up to a longer tournament run this year.

Another reason why we shouldn't rush to expand.  If something like this happens Wake Forest might be an option.

And why stop with Wake?  If BC, GT, UNC and UVa all leave the ACC, Duke might be an option too....

I assume its to attract Notre Dame with an historic rival. Besides Northwestern, Big Ten has always been a state-school focused conference, so some of these sound strange. But I guess Duke is too hard to pass up when you're bringing in UNC.

Wait, what?

Four of those 6 have been mulled about for a long time.  It's still incredibly unwieldly.  If it were to happen, the Big Ten would put Duke, BC, Virginia football in with Wisconsin along with 4 high schools.  Notre Dame, UNC and Tech would join the division with PSU, OSU, UM, MSU

Wake and Duke will never give up football, heck Duke even makes it to bowl games these days

Does the NC state legislature have a law or "strong suggestion" that NC State and UNC have to state together in a conference?
