I am so upset I turned this game off at half.

Green Bay cut it to 3 with a minute to play and missed the front-end of a 1 and 1 to could have cut it to one.

Madison won by 5

UW-M going uptempo with Gard!

Greg Gard's debut featured 84 possessions and 26 turnovers. Both are more than Bo Ryan ever had in a game. Kohl Center records, too.

It is going to be funny listening to Badger fans backtrack about how more than 10 turnovers in a game for a team is just awful to watch despite playing at a higher pace.

I t will be interesting to watch UW vs. Purdue. Green Bay was much quicker than UW. Butler made Purdue look like a slow team. Slow vs. slow, which may help the Badgers.

This game does not tell you if Wisky is playing faster or not because GB shot the ball quickly all the time, it is amazing how Milwaukee and GB had quicker guards then
MU and Wisconsin.  Carrington Love is a nice player, to bad he is not at either school.

Darner likes to play really fast. His teams at Florida Southern pressed a ton and put up some wild numbers offensively.

Once he gets his guys there, Green Bay will be a ton of fun to watch. Love the fact that Trev Anderson took a scholarship there instead of walking on at UW. Kid can really play.

Marquette doesn't want to play road games unless they are getting high-major home games in return. If UWGB or UW-Milwaukee were willing to do buy games, I'm sure they'd be right back on the schedule, but the Horizon frowns on that.

I know, but a lot of major teams are now taking the deal for road games. I'm sure the business model would be hurt, but the RPI is going to continue to kill us with the 50 worse teams in the country filling so much of our schedule.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

Wasn't the schedule was made over a year ago (just like next year's schedule is probably done by now)?  And wasn't the thought a year ago that this would be a young team that would struggle to win in Big East play (in other words, just like last year)?  So the decision was made to ease up on the out of conference part of the schedule.

So, this was done by design, no?

I've been pretty publicly against this schedule. I understand why they did it, I just don't like the philosophy. I'm okay with some buy games, but a competitive schedule at least gives you a fair chance at the tourney while helping the entire conference's RPI.

I also like the idea of four simultaneous 3-for-1 series that give you three contracted quality low-majors and one winnable true road game. But that's not what Marquette wants to do.
