Could the full story be closer to coming out.  Obviously Bruesewitz goes against the UW flow of "nothing to see here."

"For Coach to have retired at this point in the season is strange, and there are several personal, political and altruistic reasons for the odd and sudden retirement. There has been much speculation about the reasons behind it since it has now been almost two weeks since Coach Ryan retired but that is not what this article is about."

That is a truly bizarre article.  Half "Bo Ryan is a master coach;" Half "Bo Ryan is a impersonal d*ck and Greg Gard is screwed as a head coach"

Don't hold your breath.  It will be swept under the rug like everything does.

Unless someone talks, or a reporter files a bunch of FOIA requests, you are exactly right.  Both parties have no reason to tell the whole story.

You mean all three parties....as in the media who will do what they can to protect the UW and access to the UW.  Don't want to knock good old state U.

It's already out.  This will be one of those deals where the local press will do nothing, the national press will get it and the local press will say "we just didn't know" wink wink nudge nudge.

What media?  The Madison print media has been decimated and the MJS has its own issues.  But you are right, potentially compromising access is ultimately going to prevent this from coming out through that forum.

Print, radio, tv.   Reminds me of some of the stuff going on with Favre early in the Packer days.  Everyone knew what was going on, media wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.  They weren't going to do anything that would label them as hero killers in the state.  Not exactly an independent body of truth seekers.

Barry is a great and I mean great politician in the state.  Very well connected and he yields a lot of influence.

someone who has no skin in the game and cannot be affected by the pressure to stfu.  barry knows a lot, i mean A LOT of people.  could extend all the way to donna shalala who then has her wide circle.  i just don't know if she and barry have any love for each other yet.  i'm referring to when donna was chancellor at UW. she was the one who hired barry.  as long as barry didn't burn that bridge...one call-that's all

Donna Shalala left UW in 1992. I don't think she has anything to do with this story dude.

dude-you are missing my point.  i'm talking about connections.  btw, she left in 1993.  anyway, what i am saying is barry's influence may extend further out than wisconsin and the midwest.

ok norm, now see if you can follow me here-we're talking about if a journalist wants to step in it here and dig in and expose "the rest of the story".  then you have people of barry alvarez-they may be able to discourage this very very much.  in walks some national guy trying to make a name for himself.  he says, screw you, i have no allegiance to mr. alvarez.  but he gets a call from donna's people and suggests that a national story on bo ryans babes ain't a good idea-read not a healthy choice, you catching my drift there normy?  or do i need to draw ya a picture?  think broken brake lines, projectile vomiting, permanently parking in the handicap section, eating your food thru a straw...just to gossip about a guy whom many either still hold in high regard or may open a big can of worms.  barry certainly doesn't need people to find out who he's been playing escaped jailer and the wardens wife with, finding out he collects cheerleaders panties, etc...does this help a little? and this could involve more than just barry.  think big shot donors gettin in on the action.  it's not what ya know, but who ya know people.  conspiracy crap?  hardly.  just everyday life in the world of narcissists and sex and rock n roll baby

there are ways, and there are other ways...and some of these are not so pleasant-heyna

So you think that some national reporter who wants to do a story on Bo Ryan, is going to prompt Barry Alvarez to call Donna Shalala's "people," and those "people" are going to threaten the reporter's life?

That's really dumb.

not really. i understand you haven't had much dealings with people in power straddling that fine line.  they don't like the notoriety if ya know what i mean. you are being a little too literal here.  but just the fact that there is that "that's a nice family ya have there...it's not what ya know, but...it's not as much the writer/journalist either.  the editor may not want to open that door.  all it takes is a little "friendly conversation" and the story never reaches the web.  simple.  these are powerful people you're dealing with here.  wonder why bill clinton isn't in more trouble for all that he's done??  you don't think stuff like this goes on?  i don't know what bubble you've been living in...

What's new?  This story is dying out way too quickly...
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

The latest rumor I heard was that Bo fathered a kid that's now 2 years old from one of the affairs.

No one has incentive to talk, so no one is talking.  It may come out eventually, but my guess is that it will lay dormant for awhile.

So why the story/retirement now? Why not 2 years ago?

Not saying it isn't true I just don't understand the timing.

Except the Bo stories have sources galore, including many of his big fans on the Badger boards The Buzz stuff was just Chico hating on him.

For a guy who looks like he probably still writes with crayons to be so condescending to you - read the 1st line - is pretty amazing.
