Last season, Marquette was 0-10 when the opposition shot better than 50.0% eFG. (A statistical oddity: MU's opponents NEVER shot between 50.1% - 55.0% eFG in a game.. wonder how many other defenses that could say the same last year. Crazy.)

MU won in 3 of the 4 factors last night, but the 54.5% to 47.7% eFG edge that Belmont enjoyed was too much to overcome.

Belmont did it with 3-point shooting AND Evan Bradds. Bradds is a 70% career 2FG% shooting and finished in the top 10 in the nation for 2FG% in both of his first two seasons. 10/12 last night. Yeeesh.

Belmont's 2FG%, ex-Bradds: 8/20 = 40.0%.
Belmont's 3FG% = 12/34 for 35.3%, or 53.0% on an eFG% basis

So, MU lost because Belmont can shoot and MU did not play quality defense.     Hey, your stats match the eye test.

Lost this game on defensive side of ball as Jay Bee's stats show.

And posters are already picking Cheatham over Carter even though I saw Cheatham get schooled and out of position throughout game.

Same old same old from Scoop. It is all about offense,  even in games where our D was the cause for the loss.

Did anyone else notice that when Anim was in Bradds was shut out a lot? Wojo might have been better served playing Anim over Fischer for longer stretches yesterday

Something to think about!  Sacar is tough, Luke a little less.
