Good lord.

In my defense, I wasn't even born until like half way through his college career and haven't exactly looked at the history in the 90's so much.

Never even heard of him. Thought it would have been Deiner.

Wow!!!

I think Sam Worthen was the best passer ever but Miller was incredible

Nevermind then. That record looks like an unbreakable one.

Assuming Carter stayed healthy and Marquette played a full schedule averaging one win in both the BET and NCAA each year, Carter would need to average over 6.8 apg to equal Miller.

Probably close to unbreakable, especially as Miller finished his career ranked in the top 5 in NCAA history. He's now ranked 8th.

So you're saying that Marquette should plan on winning at least three BET & NCAA games every year to make it easier for Carter....

Making it to the Big East and NCAA Finals each year would make it much easier. If he played 39 games per year he'd "only" need to average about 6.1 apg.

My word, Tony was ridiculously good.

My word, Tony was ridiculously good.

956 total assists.  7.8 assist average over his career.  221 assists as a freshman.

Before my day, but he also threw down a triple-double against Wisconsin.

You're right... will correct... I was watching a clip where they shared that and the highlight playing for that tidbit was a game in Madison.  My mistake.

MuMark found a tweet last week mentioning the name and Mark Miller tweeted Marquette's interest last night in 6-8 Darral Willis from Pearl River (MS) Community College via Madison Memorial.  He visited Wichita State this weekend and they could be the leaders.

Thanks teddy. Looks like Zona, Memphis and Iowa state may be sniffing around too.

Brief footage I saw shows an athletic shot blocker with a nice lefty shooting touch. Looks like has legit size to play the 4.

Just a heads up - I've seen ninety different spellings over the years, but I think the correct one is Darrlyn.

Ran with The Family (Detroit) in the 2013 EYBL season.. he rebounded well (13% OR, 19.5% DR) but struggled shooting (24/62 2FG = 38.7%; only 3 3FGA). 20% usage, only 17% shots; 19% turnover rate was high for his player type.

Certainly has 'the look', but wasn't there from what I saw two years ago. That said, he may be much improved.

Despite what videos may show, I don't think he's a guy that will ever stretch things out.. mid-range game is fine, but he's an interior guy on offense.

Relative to MU's projected needs, though.. at a high-level he's a fit.

Goes by Darral to people he knows and on Twitter.

Story on some of the things that held him back early in his high school years.

Marquette won an NCAA title in 1977, BTW.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Miller benefited from three years as the point guard for a Jim McIlvaine and Damon Key frontline combination.  Now if Traci could just get three years with Henry and Luke....

No one is going to give Luke an extra year of eligibility.

Too many bigs are shying away from the post these days.  It's great to see that that isn't the case with Darrlyn.  JUCO stats show no three point attempts last year.

Stretch fours can create matchup magic, but you have to have the shot in order to do it.  those who don't and try anyway can really hurt their team.  I'm not positive, but I think that that's been a problem with Tommy Hamilton at DePaul, so far.

I think Kostas would be good here because he could redshirt his first year due to his lack of PT. This would give him a year to develop under Wojo and that's way better than any prep school out there. But also I think we need to stop acting like if we offer him he's ours. Temper our expectations he has good school recruiting him already. Although with that said I do think he would want to come here haha
I watched him yesterday in fall ball league and he doesn't even stand out in that format other than he is tall. He is athletic, but he doesn't really have true basketball skills. I guess he could get there eventually with some serious commitment/training, but he is going to be a senior. Has the body to play D, just isn't remotely in the same class as say, an Amir Coffee.
