I guess I missed this - when did the rule change regarding where the players line up on the lane during free throw attempts?  The nearest player to the basket lines up above the "block" now (the block is between him and the basket).  I never heard any mention of the rule change, I just happened to notice it and thought it looked odd.  I noticed a year or two ago that the "second" player from the basket was actually allowed to but his foot on the "block" - that was not the case until recently.  Now it's changed again.  just wondering.

It's almost impossible to get an offensive rebound off a FT now.  Interesting that in international (FIBA) play they have the trapezoid lane to give the offensive player a better shot at grabbing a board.
