New arena-boon for MU tix holders

Not only is the arena a positive to keep the Bucks (and the partnership with MU), but here are some other benefits to MU fans (those in the seats):

1. No hockey rink and sight lines.  My seats behind the basket will now be substantially closer to the action.
2. Three tiers of seating.  Similar to the Herb Kohl Center, the 2nd deck will be ideal viewing.  The 3rd level will really only be used for big games (over 15,000). The place will look full with the typical 13,000.
3. Dates.  Not sure it will change much, but the Admirals will not be a part of the equation.
4. More sellouts.  With a seating capacity of 16,500, MU should sell out several games a year. This is always good for ticket holders 

Anything else? In short, this will be a great deal for MU fans and should really help the coaching staff from a recruiting standpoint.

Sounds like they'll be moving to the Arena once the BC gets torn down.

I haven't seen 16,500 as a capacity anywhere. I'd be surprised if the NBA let them dip below 17k.

I would think plexiglass would be an injury hazard for players. Besides that you better expect to meet a player from time to time, if you buy first row tickets.

Haven't heard of fans dying because of something flying into the stands at NBA games.  The worst I've ever seen are a few sucker punches thrown by players towards fans and a spilled beer or nachos.  But hey, almost a good comparison.

Picturing a somewhat smaller United Center (but with permanent seats all the way to the floor).  The 200 Level at the UC is sandwiched between two skybox levels.  Outstanding seats; favorite place to sit if not directly courtside.  MKE's new 300 Level could be significantly smaller (UC holds roughly 21K total for basketball) and I'm guessing there won't be any rooftop skyboxes which were a pretty tough sell initially even in a city this large.

Senate approved financing 21-10, still has to be approved by assembly, county and city which should happen by September. Shovels in ground by November, complete by start of 2017 season but probably longer than that.

I for one cannot wait to leave the BC behind.  Beyond the excitement a basketball first building, I am also hopeful they will return to stage lighting.  The BC is was too bright.  Stage lighting is making a comeback in the NBA.  Lakers and Knicks have had it for awhile, the Nets now have it in BKN and the Clippers just recently went to it.

Wades, the bright lights in the seating area are an awful distraction.  It's like sitting in someones' basement rec room with the overhead recessed lighting.  You could read a book in the stands during the game-leads to all kinds of distractions when people show up late across the court, or when your wife is pointing out that your friends' seats are empty.
At the arena the seats were dimmed, and the court was the center of attention.  I've complained about the lighting since the move to BC.

I've seen projections for a 17K arena. Kohl center fits about that. I would think it would be a more circular (less rectangular) than the Kohl center.  I would also think the NCAA wouldn't object considering the history in Milwaukee.
