Miami Dolphins lose overall #1 winning percentage
« on: December 03, 2007, 10:05:28 AM »
With the Dolphins moving to 0-12 and the Cowboys to 11-1, the fish have surrendered the NFL's all time best winning percentage.  I didn't realize the Bears were third all-time.

Team: Win percent – Wins – Losses – ties

Dallas: .5783 – 444 – 323 – 6

Miami: .5778 – 388 – 283 – 4

Chicago: .5747 – 691 – 506 – 42

Green Bay: .5587 – 658 – 516 – 36

San Fran: .5550 – 512 – 409 – 15

To me, the bigger surprise is San Francisco being so high. The Bill Walsh years were fantastic. But I always thought before that they were perennial doormats.

Where's Pittsburgh? Denver?

These numbers are before this season, but I'll let you add the new totals in :)

Denver: 388 win, 342 loss, 10 tie,  .531

Pitt: 531 win, 511 loss, 21 tie, .509

they were rarely a doormat -- but had plenty of just above .500 seasons prior to the dawn of the Walsh era.......but look at how many wins they piled up on an annual basis from 81-02.  quite a run
