Here's Matty V's blogpost.  By the way, he's the best GD reporter we've ever had.

Yes. Yes he most certainly is.

Mormon players who are on mission do not count towards scholarship limit. But they often commit right out of high school because they won't have a chance to showcase themselves for the next two years.

Nor do you get to take time off from your mission to take official visits.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Better than Rosiak?

Did Rosiak blog like this in the off-season?  Not that I recall.

Yes. No insult to Todd, but Matt odds knocking it out of the park.

Obviously, the Italy trip helps media availability.  Rosiak did have several detailed open gym reports.

The list of best things to ever happen to MU hoops in order, a'ina?

This is true -- he has something to report.  However, it is clear he reads the MU chat boards and attempts to answer questions that are swirling around.  Rosiak was also good in his time hosting the online chat sessions, but I think Matt has taken this to a new level.

I loved Rosiak. Matty V is going above and beyond and does a great job utilizing what the current media world has become--blogs, chats and twitter. He keeps us happy on the "what have you done for me lately" quick digestion of news front while still giving us great substantive things to digest in terms of the big picture. It's quite awesome to have a reporter that is that engaging.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Back on topic, Bailey is here for his official visit today. From Duane Wilson's Twitter, the team is hanging out during the day, BBQ at Wojo's in the afternoon, and team trip to State Fair tonight. Here's hoping Bailey has a good trip.

State Fair should give him an interesting taste of a certain cross section of Milwaukee.

In case you wanted non-scoop confirmation.

What the hell's wrong with you, Jake. If it is written here it is good as gold.

It's a start to closing the deal. It could be sealed with some Sheboygan brats, Usinger sausage and topped off with Kewaskum Market garlic summer sausage. Ai'na?

I still think the SEC offers a more... satisfying... official visit experience

He had to have. I remember emailing back and forth with him from Iraq and Afghanistan during the off-season. He kept me in the loop on recruiting and other summer doldrums news. Todd rates high in my book.

If Bailey were to commit after going to the State Fair with the team, then we'd have to rank the State Fair right behind the ice cream truck that Wojo used with Ellenson on the list of "helpful recruiting items."

99.9% of the time 'yes', but for 1/2 of the stud Mormon players (some of my best friends are ForMons and they would've LOVED the SEC recruitment setups) the State Fair may be a better pitch.

According to Thurl Bailey, Brendan had a great visit (per Adam Zagoria).
