Congratulations to both Juan and Derrick...both will be walking on stage to get their diplomas this weekend.    That is an accomplishment they both should be proud of in balancing sports and academics.   It is also something nobody can ever take away from them.    Through all the turmoil, transition and criticism, they earned their degrees.    I sincerely hope Marquette University has been transformational for them and they both go on to great success in life.    Enjoy the journey boys, but take a moment to enjoy the moment.

Proud that we continue to graduate our athletes at Marquette University!   We are  Marquette!

Here's to Chitown(whatever), Marquette's preeminent student-Scooper.  Congrats, Dude.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Congratulations to Juan and Derrick and I wish them all the best in their lives and careers!  Good show guys!  Congrats!

Congrats to Juan and Derrick.

Man, I was hungover for my commencement.

I was flying high after a non-stop all-nighter at my own commencement and then hungover at my son's graduation after a few cocktails and falling asleep before 11 PM ....sad what a mere 25 years in between can do to a man...sad

Good for those two. The smile on Wojo's face was the biggest I've seen since he was hired. Time in between those two days not filled with much to be pleased about to the degree of degrees being earned.

Awesome!...Holding back tears of joy and pride right now. This is Great to see.

Juan and Derrick, or shall I say Graduates Mr Juan Anderson and Mr Derrick Wilson are  both two exemplary young men.

It was an honor to spend much of their journey among them at MU. They both persevered and hung in there. . . proud of him.

Especially in Juan's case whose decision for return after putting in for a transfer after his sophomore year and stick with it was inspiring and courageous.

I would not have blamed him either way. He came to us from the Bay Area and the Valley out in there in Oakland California. I spent some time there, great town much like here in many respects. Blue collar type...

He will do well in the future. He's strong, lights up the room and a team with his aura or Spirit and has a presence of Leadership about him. Good man. Wish you well Juan, and Derrick. Not ashamed to say I will miss you both...come back someday and say hey.

If I can offer one word of wisdom is never have regrets. I am much older and have had many that pain me to this day. I admire those who can make a big decision in their lives good or bad and ask or pray for help to honor them and seem them through and attack opportunities.

Keeping and honoring Commitments even when they hurt and sting a bit is a great human quality to have. Let me cut this off as this is too long as it is. I am not even sure he even reads this blog...

But oh well, keep in touch with us...God bless.

PS:Thanks for this picture. I regret I could not be down there to see these 4 year Scholarship Athletes off.

Amen! Where is a picture of Derrick....that's my guy too.

What a solid young man. Man his parents have to be proud of him. The kind of guy you pray you used to hope that your daughter would have  the good upbringing to bring home to you to meet...

Top notch. Big time integrity, selflessness, and leadership qualities. He can be a great coach someday if he wanted to go in that field...I still would have loved to seen him as a DB in football or RB...for Packers of course. Okay okay...and Da' Bears. How's that? lol

Try to get one of him as well up in here. Congrats Derrick Wilson Good journey in the future. Always a part of the MU Family....

Derrick and Juan, the class, grace, leadership and heart you exhibited last year will serve you well.   Clearly, you two can lead.   Thank you and good luck.
