@CBS58: Head coach of @BadgerMBB Bo Ryan has had his contract extended through 2020

brewcity77

No way I believe he'll see that contact out. If he leaves before his agreed to term does that make him a rent-a-coach?

Did anyone actually state that he would retire? I never read it. I did read people speculating why he might retire.

Nukem2

I've heard from some Bucky alums that the rumor is he will retire at 70 with the recently announced Temple series giving him a "homecoming" game in Philly during his projected final season.

Wojo'sMojo

I'm pretty sure wadesworld was making veiled statements about him retiring.

How old is the dude now?

I keep reading this speculation, but if he enjoys it, he's good at it and he has his health, why would he retire?

It makes him a coach who can recruit until he retires.  "No worries.  I've got a contract through 2020, kid".
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I wonder how his ACOs are feeling, especially the ones who want to replace him one day.

5 years?

They probably should find a HC position soon.

The speculation was if he won he might consider going out on top.  But he did not win.

Back to back final fours, he must be thinking hes got the formula now and its just a matter of time before he hits the
jackpot

Yeah, keep finding unhealed three-star big men that ride the bench for two years and then blow up into NPOY. (as noted before Kaminsky had statistical the worst freshman year in the history of the NPOY award making him the most unlikely NPOY ever).

Most people think this is the equivalent of winning the lottery, I guess Bo thinks "wash, rinse repeat."

Good luck with that strategy

That strategy might not yield Final Fours regularly, but Bo goes to the tourney every year and gets to the second weekend most years. Fans of 98% of the programs out there would take that -- including this Marquette fan.
