A university spokesman said Tuesday by email, "We can confirm Marquette University has purchased the property that was formerly Butch's Steakhouse. We have no plans to use the building in its current form. The purchase of this property continues our long-term commitment to develop the east side of our campus, which connects us closer to downtown and our many partners in the region. Earlier this year, we announced our plans to collaborate with the Milwaukee Bucks to construct a new multi-purpose, co-curricular facility that supports elite-level intercollegiate and professional athletics as well as academic research. The purchase of this new property is connected with these plans."

Or, run the Bucks out of town and build the damn thing next to your on-campus basketball-only arena.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

The should call it by the proper name: DV-8s Athletic Research Facility.

Ramada site next up for the B-Dome

And in that great MU tradition, turn it into a dorm.

Use it as a dorm while you rebuild McCormick.

Local news is reporting that tomorrow's announcement regarding the arena plans will actually be a bigger announcement about a new sports and entertainment district in downtown Milwaukee.  Any insiders with info on this?  Is the Grand Ave. mall area involved in this, could the arena be going closer to the property MU just purchased, etc.?

It should be well setup for the once a semester steak night by Saga.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Or beef buckshot night, named after that moment in 1976 when a Marquette student eating Sagarrhia found buckshot in her beef!
