Here's why as an MU alum living in Wisconsin you should NOT cheer for UW-Madison:  as a hardworking, over burdened taxpayer of the state of Wisconsin, why should I cheer for someone who takes my money involuntarily?   The only exception to that rule are protective services.   And yes, Marquette does get some money from the state, but MU only has the pointer finger up to the first knuckle in the WI taxpayer's pocket.  UW system, of which Madison is the biggest piglet suckling on the teat of the taxpayers, has the whole fist up to the elbow, nay, shoulder, in the WI taxpayer's pocket.   And for decency sake, put some pants on that rat.
