Right now Wojo and Kevin O'Neill are pretty close based on their first year's recruiting classes. Starting next year, I'm confident that Wojo will get separation from O'Neill with a series of better recruiting years.  Both coaches started at Marquette in similar situations, being assistants at big time programs and starting out their first year recruiting with Wisconsin having one of the best crops of HS talent in a decade.

Key, McIlavine and Logtermann all were from Wisconsin.

Wojo's first recruiting class includes two kids from Wisconsin, and one each from Florida, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.

I saw that yesterday.  I'm hoping he was just saying "no", as in, I'm not going to tell you right now...

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Maybe the mayor of the town needed to make his presence known.  Someone on this board, please remind me which announcement that was (in T-Bone's photo profile).

Keith Smart (transfer from Purdue in O'Neill's first class) was from Wisconsin, also.  Ron Curry (transfer from Arizona) and Charles Brakes were from Illinois.  Of course, he also brought Curry with him from Arizona, so O'Neill did get the job done with minimal travel for recruits and coaches.  I was bringing up the Wisconsin HS talent thing to point out similarities in the situations they found themselves in at the start.  Another one that now occurs to me is that they both had to play their first season with limited scholarship players.  O'Neill had seven, the same number Wojo would have had if not for the change allowing graduate transfers to play immediately which allowed Woj to add Carlino.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

It's 11:32 and 24/7 still lists Carter as uncommitted.  Get the lead out, Jerry Meyer!

Was the last 5 man freshman class for Marquette in Buzz's first year? Cadougan, Otule, Erik Williams, Brett Roseboro, and Jeronne Maymon?

Here's to hoping this one turns out better! I highly suspect it will.

Otule wasn't in that class.  Mbao was.

It *better* turn out better.

Three top 100 guys, a fast rising PF in Roseboro, and a potential lock down defensive center with extraordinary length.  I remember feeling stoked.

Ashes to ashes.
