Fans leaving in droves. This is Deane-era bad. The 8,000 that showed up is now about 2,000 with 4:00 minutes left.

Why are you people surprised and why did you make another thread about something like this?

Not sure if you know, but St. Johns is better than Syracuse this year.

Don't disagree about a disappointing year though.

Why would anyone stay to watch that crap? Frankly, why would anyone show up in the first place?

Syracuse still would have outdrawn St Johns by a wide margin.

true. unless ellenson is the next jahlil, expect the same next year. College bball is cyclical for tier 2 programs. It will take a few years to get back but wojo is the right guy for the job

Did you stay until the end? Or even go the game?

There are transition years for every program. Look at UNC.

At the end of the day, we're a small school with a small fanbase and a huge arena. It takes winning to fill the place up

No, they suck!!!!!!

I went to a high school that won maybe 10 games over a 6 year period from my 5th grade year through 10th grade.  My last two years they won 34 games and were ranked in the top 10 in the state in their division my senior year.  My first year in college the team was #1 ranked until losing in the state semi-finals in Madison.  My parents took me to every game they could during the losing years, never complaining about the coaches or the players and they and their friends were always there supporting the team. People who didn't step foot in the gymnasium for 7 years all of a sudden became big fans and some of these people lived close enough to the high school to walk to the gym.  They were the epitome of bandwagon fans and I could have given two shits about them.

Get your ass out there Saturday and support the seniors.  They stayed with the program through a coaching change and are now on their 3rd AD.  They have played hard this year from beginning to end.  If you want a great team every year, you have to do your duty as a fan.

What percent of the posters here were at the game?

Every fanbase has a bunch of bandwagon fans.  It's the nature of fandom.  Some people care more than others.

esotericmindguy

It's not bandwagon to not spend money on a poor product. This team flat out stinks. It's hard to even watch the games on TV.

jsglow

All I know is that chick and I were there and stayed until the horn.  Our son sat with us as none of his friends wanted to go.  Trust me, we had room for him.

I didn't. Think I was in bed before it was over. More of many tickets that have gone unused this year.

Student section 84-88.   Never missed a home game that occurred while I was on campus.   Hopefully, this phase breaks the MU fanbase of any notions of entitlement.

I do think that season ticket sales will take a pretty major hit next year.  Sure the lifers will still be there but I wonder what that core is?  I guess we'll find out.

A) there are a lot of negative neds and nancys at here
2) its a transition year, if anyone thinks next year's team will be at this level, stop sniffing glue
III) I hate the bandwagon fans, but thats the nature of fans.  Just means those of us who stick through the tough times can enjoy the great times that much more (if you don't know how bad bad is, you can't truly appreciate how great good is)
d) there is a generational shift in options and opportunities for entertainment dollars, just reality.  Marquette has to hope Wojo is the right guy for that job(I have 127% confidence in him) and they figure out their game day experience to make sure they have a quality product

I do think season ticket sales go down next year....I'm betting about a 10% drop.

Agree with everything except that I am not sure how much better next year's team will be.   And you are whistling past the graveyard to have 127% confidence in Wojo.  I am at about 90%.  However, it will have no affect on my fandom.    I still follow an NFL team that went 0-16, I still root for a MLB team that won 43 games in an entire season and had to finish the year on a winning streak to do it.
