The Liberty Message Board if you're interested, they certainly picked up the Buzz connection.

Seemed like a good kid, was really nice to my son at camp this summer.  Hope he gets some nice run and a degree.

Liberty went all out to get Dawson...

Schools like Texas Tech, University of Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho State and Murray state were in the running but Liberty had the best situation to come in and be a key part of the team from Day 1. Our Family is happy with his decision and wish him the best. The Coaching staff went all out to recruit him and hes up for the challenge.... Also Liberty has a 90% chance of joining conference USA next year and also is rumored to want to get a game in the Non Conference against "Marquette"......

You're a member of the Dawson family?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I was always impressed with how engaged John was on the bench. I hope he does very well at Liberty. He seems like a great kid.

Also, I hope he can get some kind of waiver on those four minutes.

Sarcasm I'm hoping.

Hard to believe, I admit, but that's what he seems to be saying.  Hey, Nevada's not that far from New Mexico.

Most likely your skepticism is correct and rather than writing what he posted, he got it from somewhere else and just didn't attribute it to the actual author.

Good for JD.  Hard to pass up Colorado and Boulder (who actually have put together a nice program recently) and Hawaii, who is getting better, but they must have shown him some good stuff, glad to see him land on his feet.

They don't exactly roll out the red carpet for JD on their board.

Wish John the best.  Any idea if he has a chance to have the four minutes waived to get the redshirt?  Or if they'll institute the Josh Smith WTF Rule and not only forgive the minutes (81 in that case!) but let him play right away next year instead of after the semester?

Liberty is working with the NCAA to get his season back. No official word yet.

The fact their changing conferences, to Conference USA and flew to New Mexico on a moments notice to recruit him meant alot.

Texas Tech and Colorado expressed intrest also but he went where he felt was best for him.
Buzz and Brad did the right thing by him even tho they left MU already, their word of approval was significant.

I dont live in Nevada lol, I live in Delaware.... Virginias not far at all..
Liberty is a good school with a good program. 2 years at Marquette have certainly helped him out and it will be good to see him play.

He's family

Very mature of him as family member to knock the teammates of JD on a public message board for the past year.

I've met 4-5 people who've graduated from Liberty and they've all been high quality people....top shelf.  I am happy for John landing there....he enjoys the team, gets a good degree and has a great life.

I hope all these guys we watch and root for coming thru Marquette figure out life without basketball. I wonder what percent of them spend 1yr or more playing bball for a living?
Don't know anybody from Liberty, but if you read through a few of the implied comments above, there is some animosity toward a religious university. How does that square with their love for MU?

It isn't religious universities generally; it's the schools run by extremists, with rules that go over the top.

I don't recall MU prohibiting me from watching R rated movies or going any further than holding hands with a girl.

Not all Evangelicals are extremists, but Jerry Falwell certainly qualifies.

Jim Jones and David Koresh are extremists.  Jerry Falwell is mainstream by comparison.

PS.  I am not an evangelical.

Osama bin Laden and the leaders of ISIS are extremists.
David Koresh and Jim Jones were mainstream by comparison.

p.s. Someone who blames 9/11 on abortion and the gays and believes all schools should be Christian schools is pretty extreme.
But that's just me.

Quite the 180 to be praising Buzz now after slandering him last season for playing Derrick ahead of Dawson.

Last Tango In Paris???

Never saw that at MU...but I do recall that they showed Psycho at the Varsity during my freshman orientation.  It's rated R, so that won't be happening at Liberty.  Between that and the hand holding limit, 95% of my freshman class would have been expelled before the first day of classes...most of us with multiple violations of the code of conduct. ;D
