It doesn't change my opinion that last season Derrick was one of the worst starting high-major PGs I'd ever seen or that our starting backcourt might have been the worst in Marquette history.

Want to pound him just to pound him? Fine, go all hyperbolic on him. It doesn't change my opinion that he was our only alternative at the point last year. And it doesn't change my opinion that those who think John Dawson was/is the answer were/are nuts. The fact that TWO coaches being paid millions to win basketball games agree just solidifies that opinion.

Beyond that, I think the beating Derrick has taken on this board is disgraceful.

Juan has been the most pleasant surprise of the season to date for me.
Nice to see the energy and hustle that he has always displayed getting paid out on the stat line. What would the record be right now if not for this:

I think this was the best game this team has played all season.  Finally got to watch it after a very busy weekend.  With the exception of free throw shooting it was fun to watch the team play well.

That said, I think Providence can make a really deep run in the tournament and be near the top of the league the next couple of years with the young athletic size they have up front.  Cooley has done a great job with the program.
