This may have been covered in another thread, but why did we go 7 deep when Cohen was apparently available to play?  With Luke getting doubled and kicking out, it would have been nice to have an actual three point shooter on the perimeter to knock a few down.

Injured, sick, dog house, what?

That is really the only question I would ask the coach.  Cohen two games ago hit 3 threes in a short period of time, had Carlino jacking up shots all night that he could not hit.  They are
doubling Luke so somebody is open, do you want Carlino who could not hit a shot or Derrick Wilson doing the same thing?  Ends up they are combined 2-14 behind the arc.  Sandy may not
have the quickest shot to get off, but nobody guarding him I would say he hits 5-14 minimum, bad coaching decision, Duane and JJJ are not much better.

The Lens

Freshman stuck on the bench. Seniors getting a ton of run.

More things change...

I liked Buzz and I like Wojo.  These coaches see these guys so much more than we do.  I'm sure Wojo has his reasons.

Clueless - he was the guy that Wojo went after hard to honor his commitment. Cohen NEVER played for Buzz.

For the answer, just watch Cohen off the ball. He doesn't know what to do. But....

I think he is going to be an excellent player once he learns the college game. Gotta remember he came from a small school where he could dominate solely because of his physical talents.

Reminds me of Tokoto - only a better shooter. JP averaged only 8 minutes a game as a freshman - that jumped to almost 30 minutes his sophomore year.

When I look at the team this year, I'm reminded about how much I thought Juan Anderson was junk.  This year he is a player that rebounds, finishes, defends, etc.  A solid player.  I'm thinking with time Sandy will do the same thing except with a much higher ceiling.  Why isn't he playing?. He is a freshman that if we had a full roster more then likely would have redshirted.  So I decided to take a look at the stats thinking he must be shooting horribly.  He is shooting 44% from 3! He is a skinny framed freshman going against juniors and seniors that have 3,4,5 years of strength and conditioning and playing experience.  He will be fine with time.

He will be more than fine.  I think he is going to be very solid next year and have a break out season his Junior year.  I can see him potentially being a player similar to Jimmy.  Smart, solid, does his job and over a few years builds strength and athleticism that allows him to break out as a great talent.

Not saying he will be as good as Jimmy, but similar type of player.

Wojo just admitted he made a mistake not playing him at DePaul.

Good on Wojo for owning it.   14 games in.  Learning curve still intact.

agreed, and should've played him more today.  Anyone got a link to the minutes by player?

I always respect coaches, or people in general, when they admit a mistake.  A nice change from Buzz who would always double down on his mistakes.

Markusquette

Could have used another 10 minutes from Sandy today.  Don't let the hot hand sit on the bench!  Wojo did say that all guys would play from here on out though (assuming the Mache twins aren't included with that statement).
