awful game by all around - coaching and players...   really dont like losing a 13 pt lead like that, Wojo has a lot to learn...

I just read this thread now.

So how much are we losing by?

oh, wait

Like Legs said, always the same. Uh, no.....

That was really sad ball for Marquette, but we knew it would be a rebuilding year.  Disappointing that Luke wasn't more of a factor due to fouls - hopefully that doesn't become a theme.  I'm glad no one else is in the office today.  I've been swearing aloud for the past 20 minutes.

No chance for post season. Time to move on and just look for something positive.

Play bad, lose.   MU had their chances and didn't take them.

Wait you thought he had a chance for the NCAA two hours ago?

Steve Taylor is easily the most disappointing player in a long time. He has gotten progressively worse since his freshmen year. At some point our 2nd big man needs to learn how to do something productive on the court.

Wow!  I had picked 10 wins in the BE wins poll, but would cut that in half right now.  DePaul had a 6 game losing streak and we had a 4 game winning streak. They were also missing their big guy today.  Not a good way to celebrate New Year's Eve.

GooooMarquette

It's just one game...but when you have an awful team down 13 midway through the second half, you just can't lose.

My favorite part of watching Marquette is Derrick Wilson handling the ball 75 percent of the time and then giving it to someone to throw up a wild shot at the end of the shot clock. I wonder if he's proud of being the starting PG for the worst two-year stretch at Marquette in like 30 years. His eligibility can't run out fast enough for me.

What is wrong with Steve. Certainly not the same player he was his freshman year. I can't believe his surgery has affected his game this much.

This game was disappointing.

Also, they triple Luke and he dishes it out to Carlino. Instead of Carlino finding an open guy he just dribbled the air out of the ball. I don't understand what the hell just transpired over those last 10 minutes. But I will say, that charge call was the game. Instead of Garrett with 4 fouls and two free throws. We had our most important guy go out of the game. From there the wheels really came off.

D'Lo Brown

That was a historically bad shooting performance. I'm curious to know if we even made one of the many wide-open shots that DePaul granted us in the first half. Seriously, they came out and played no defense at all in the first half. I know we don't have a great team this year, but even we should have won this game by 30 points.

I thought Duane should have had way more opportunities, he looked good with the chances he got in the first half.

Steve had good games in stretches against teams that zoned and did not game plan for him as a freshman.  He would come in, find open spots make some bunnies, get some offensive rebounds.   He never had any responsibility.   The difference now is that MU needs a lot more from him.

carli issues, but if he is a 10-15 minute player on this team, what are your sentiments on Derrick? Carlino is a better shooter scorer and FT shooter than Derrick, so now what?
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Afroman

I think I hate Brent even more after watching that game.

Next year Taylor will get minimal minutes spelling Fischer and Henry. He just never turned it around and don't see it happening after three years. Shame

Hey, to play like this it takes a team to loose. We have players who do not protect the ball, who shoot even though they can not hit a barn, passes that go to the other team, play no D, throw into a double teamed post, have Teve bring up the ball and have him shoot a three. All of this against the second worst team in the BE. You ask who is the worst? I leave it to your imagination.

+100. Drives me insane.

Carlino dribbled the ball far longer and ineffectively than Derrick today.

DePaul is really bad. The worst team we will play for the balance of the season. They played without their leading scorer and rebounder. While technically a road game, our fans outnumbered theirs by a lot. We had a 12 point lead when we stopped attacking on offense. Then when they cut it to seven Wojo panicked and switched out of the zone. Two lay ups later (surprise, surprise) it's a 3 point game. Down the stretch we looked totally disorganized and out of control. They weren't lucky, didn't hit some miracle shot to beat us. They took it from us and had the game in hand at the end. Some of our guys lost their poise (most notably Matt) and Wojo had a shell shocked look on his face on the sidelines.

In the recent past MU teams have usually bounced back after giving away one like this. Here's hoping that we do again this time.

He has zero elevation.  Puzzling
