Marc Berman hopes Phil Jackson & the Knicks will be in play for Wes during free agency next year.

I like Wes too much to wish that Knicks cesspool on him. Love the city, but hate that team. Selfish, sloppy, and egotistical. Too many cancers on their roster. I don't went Wes to get caught up in that.

As long as Melo is the first option, the Knicks will never win.

Getting paid and going to a big market team could be good for the school.
I have been thinking about you a lot since last weekend. A whole lot.

PGsHeroes32

God that would be horrible.

Don't let it be about the dough Wes. Go to a good situation, or stay in your current good situation.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Wes and Jimmy are both in line for BIG pay days this summer.  I hope they get their worth, as well as a good situation for them to continue to succeed.

Ordinarily, I would agree 100%. But that Knicks team is so horrible, I would hate to see Wes get caught up in their stink. That team is a disaster from top to bottom. It's where good players go to die.

And no, I don't think the sainted Phil Jackson will turn it around. No Michael Jordans, Kobe Bryants, or Shaq O'Neils to save him this time.

Completely agree on all counts.

Wes is WAAAAYYYY too smart to want any part of the hole Jackson is digging in New York. He will have his pick of suitors and will choose wisely.

I am hoping and praying they don't manage to lure him...

That would be the worse thing he could do for his career. And I think both he and Jimmy Butler know that.

Don't go to that melting pot and get caught up in that madness in New York.

But then again, if by some miracle you do manage to turn it around there and help them become a winner and LeBron leaves Cleveland and goes there then that is different.

But on the other had if President Phil Jackson can get it back right and they are back on top, I would say there no place on earth to do it then in the Big Apple. They would turn that on it's ears there...

I remember 1970 and 1973 well....there. It was epic. But Wesley should try to resign in Portland where he is perfect with Lillard and Aldridge and also Jimmy Butler should resign in Chicago with the Bulls.

Both former MU alums can remotely even be in the NBA Finals this year...in fact. It's more then feasible to think so.

I could easily see a Portland Trailblazers vs Chicago Bulls 2015 NBA Final$...

Cha-Ching...$$$ a windfall in free agency for both of them

Wes should stay with Portland. He's loved there, the team gave him his big chance, and he fits perfectly.

Jimmy could move on, he has the star power that Wesley lacks and may get shadowed by Derrick Rose.

Next year the Knicks will have a very low salary cap and have a boatload of money to lure players to complement Carmelo.  They will not re-sign Stoudemire, Smith or Bargani which will free up 40 million dollars in salary space.  They also have their first round draft choice this year, which will result in a lottery pick.

They will throw the big bucks out there and will be a major team to watch in free agency following the season.

Wes & JFnB to the Knicks?

Wes and Jimmy to the Bucks!!

Would not be good for MU (except maybe in recruiting in Wisconsin).  They would be lost nationally.  Completely off the radar.

ChitownSpaceForRent

Money talks. Wes is a smart dude but the Knicks have a ton on money to offer. I can see the Bucks dropping Mayo and Knight to draft a point guard and give Butler max money.

jR Smith has a player option. He'll be back. Who else wants that loser?

With Smith and Melo, it really doesn't matter who the Zen Moron brings in. They won't see the ball. The Knicks are a disaster, and the only reason Jackson won't coach them himself is that he knows his reputation will be tarnished. Yes, they will have money to spend, but so will a lot of teams..
