Past preseason tournaments round 1 for MU

I got to thinking as I watched us clunk shot after shot today, how have we played the last few years in the first round of these tournaments....amazingly consistent each time with one exception


2007 MAUI Classi Round 1....MU Beats Chaminade 74-63  (11 points)

2006 CBE Classic Round 1...MU beats Idaho State 59-56 in overtime   (3 points)

2005 Great Alaska Shootout Round 1....MU beats Eastern Washington 83-73  (10 points)

2004 Black Coaches Classic Round 1....MU beats Western Carolina 74-65 (9 points)

2002 Great Alaska Shootout Round 1....MU beats Tennessee 85-74 (11 points)

and except for in '04, we went on to win the tournament. I'm not overly concerned about our play for that reason.  We have a history of beating teams we should crush by around 10 points.  I'm not a fan of it but we get the job done.  Tomorrow's game will be a better feel for how the season could shape up to be I think.  A pretty quality opponent, albeit only having 8 active players due to sickness or injury.  This will be a year where we'll give up a double double to the opponent's big guy but shut down most everyone else.
