Anyone got any local dirt?  This may be the most traditional group we have had...and I had to resort to nameless alums from their Facebook page.

I got my undergrad at WLC, and the below is the only relevant piece of info I can provide.

Surprising.

We only beat them 82-70, with that team?

Last time I checked, we never beat UWM by less than 10.

GGGG

I think WLC has only been issuing bachelors degrees for something like 30 years. Give 'em a break.

warriorchick

Have some patience, FFS.

We only beat UWM by a few points the last time we played at the MECCA, but besides that I think you're right.

+1.  I remember a really close game where UWM hung around the entire time. MU only won by like 4 points, maybe 6.

Any hope for a beefcake author or porn star?

We did have a girl make one of the "Collegefessions" Twitter pages recently. That might fit the criteria.

Perfect, she is an author AND a porn star.  A rarefied combo.  Link?

GooooMarquette

Maybe this would be easier if instead of "Famous Wisconsin Lutheran Alumni," we named the thread "Famous Lutherans from Wisconsin."

We won 75-72 in 2010.

That game SUCKED

Yes it did.  IIRC, we needed every little bit of a ridiculous hot DJO and would have been buried without him.

I was going to suggest Famous Wisconsinites Named Luther, but I couldn't even find one of those.
How about Famous Luthers who have BEEN to Wisconsin:

I had to smile at your references to Wisco...I havent heard that term since I was a Red Knight almost 40 years ago and Wisco was our arch rival.

Back then, Greg Mahlberg was a star Baseball catcher at Wisco, had a coffee cup or two in MLB and managed in the minors, including for the Brewers.

Also the Son of Travis Williams (Packers) was Wisco's star running back

Greg Schmeling went to Wisco and then MU, when I went, and I think he is  a fairly known orthopedic MD in Milw area
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Spotcheck Billy

my entire family went to Wisco, even my mother was class of 49

I have 2 nieces at WLC

MU62

Wisco has great sports teams for a small school.  Just ask Marquette High about that.

Your mother graduated from the "old" Lutheran High School, at 13th and Vine (est.1903) in 1949, before Wisco existed..

...in 1951 that high school split into two (doctrinal tensions)...one being Wisco (WEL) and the other MLHS (Missouri Synod). Curiously, both still claim each is the oldest Lutheran HS in the USA....children of the same mother, I guess.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Tums Festival

"In 1982, the college purchased the academic library from Milton College." Dave Krieg is a graduate of Milton College. Does that count?
"Every day ends with a Tums festival!"
