Tums Festival

"Every day ends with a Tums festival!"

Atticus

Seems like every month there is an announcement about a BE team scheduling a series with a former BE team.

SJU -Cuse
GU - UConn, SU
Nova - SU
SHU - Rutgers
Prov- UConn is apparently in the works

Only schools left are the late arrivals - DePaul and MU.

Is UL the one that is uninterested in scheduling us?

Atticus

And now that I think about it, we really don't have options.

Cincy - we have Xavier on the schedule. No need.
Pitt, UConn, SU - No significant history with these schools and I doubt any would be interested.
Rutgers - blah
ND - seems like there is no momentum based on ADs comments
UL - I think they are the holdup
WVU - meh. Morgantown. No Buzz.
USF - no help at all

So unless UL changes its mind, we are SOL.

Sharpie

I'd like to see a series scheduled with Pitt. Always entertaining games with them. And well I live near Pittsburgh so maybe I'm just being a bit selfish.

No history with Pitt? Granted most of the matchups occurred during big east play so it was short lived, but we had some great games with Pitt.

ALL these AAC teams playing BIG EAST teams come on home UCONN,Cincy and join the Big east.

How about an old ConfUSA nemesis?                    Memphis are you available?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Actually, they asked in, and were politely told no.  The whole point of starting the new conference was to have a stable conference where no school was waiting for the next conference realignment to jump ship.  As long as those two have football, they will be looking for a better conference affiliation.

Was it out AD or theirs? What were the comments?

Or how about high-major non Big East jesuit schools like Gonzaga and Boston College? SLU, St. Joe's, and St. Mary's would make for good opponents too but not as media friendly.

St marys isn't jesuit.

Had heard that MU and ND were talking awhile back. Not sure where that stands, but it wouldn't surprise me to see that series renewed.

And someone mentioned the AD's comment on it... that's not really his area, especially being so new. Broeker handles the scheduling with input from the head coach.

I believe that ND feels it is not in their interest to play Marquette any more. First it is a possible loss , second they can play DePaul home and home and get the benefit of essentially two home games  and the Chicago market. Third, we compete with Notre Dame for recruits and why do anything to enhance our standing.
