Just curious if anybody has found any pics of Wojo on the sideline when we were playing Duke in 08 or 11? Also was he on the Duke team that knocked us out of the 94 NCAA tournament?
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

🏀

Wojo was a freshman on the 94/95 team, so no.

But then he was an 18yr old recruit sitting around rooting against us for his future school.  I'm officially upset with our coach now!

we also played Duke in the Maui basketball tournament in 2007 I believe.

Correct. Singler beat MU in the finals. I believe MU was ranked higher than Duke at the time too.

Crean got his pants coached off.

MU did beat Duke in 2006 in Kansas City.

I find this hard to believe, what with all the tips he must have been getting from La Russa, Parcells and the Harbaughs.

That was a helluva good MU team, and our last hoorah as the Warriors.

Even though we lost, that was a good game.  The Warriors name is so much more natural for our team.   :(

Collins and among others Marty Clark, who was Will Gates teammate at St. Joe's in Chicago. Didn't make an appearance in Hoop Dreams though that I can tell.

Yes, here is one. Wojo looks so young

That GIF-able Al McGuire "Holy Mackerel" tho...

Some comments:
- Inside-out, that was a SOLID MU team.
- If Derrick can play like Tony Miller (did in 1993/94) this season, I won't criticize him at all.
- Todd Townsend was the poor version of Roney Eford
- Joey Beard ending up transferring to Boston U
- missing the bunnies still is gut-wrenching to watch
- MU's starting 5 had one NBAer. Duke's? Three: Hill, Parks and Lang.
- Was Roney MU's last "great" NY recruit?
- Tony Miller's slips...I had a pair of those Adidas shoes. They were TRASH! The inner, removable lining would slip inside the boot and the traction on the sole was horrible.

In 2006, MU beat Duke 73-62....that's when Coach K got his pants coached off.  ;)  That year Duke was 9th, MU 13th.  That was the week MU knocked off Bobby Knight and Coach K in back to back games.

Yes, in 2007 we were ranked 11th and Duke 13th.  Final score 77-73. It was the 3rd poll of the season.

Beating Duke in 06 was great.  Was living in Schroeder Hall at the time and I remember Scott Van Pelt on Sportscenter going over the highlight mentions "and they were going crazy in Schroeder Hall".  I lost my mind when I heard that on the highlight.  Things were actually quite calm since it was the first night of fall break, but I'm assuming SVP had some kind of connection who was living there at the time.

I remember being at Gametime or whatever that bar was called right by the Bradley center for the game. The place was going nuts the entire game. Let's just say there were more than enough drinks to go around that day/night.

Nice. Was hoping someone would find a once where a marquette player was in there but still fun to see.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

mujivitz06

We really could have won this game. Lot's of missed bunnies and close throughout. Grant Hill had a monster performance that saved Duke in the second half.

Also that intentional foul call on Tony at the end was absolutely bogus.
