Many of you may/may not agree but I'm sick of looking at our jerseys. The Baby blues are sweet but its about time for a new design.

If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

I realize that many, many teams now utilize similar designs, but I still love the look of our uniforms, especially the baby blues and the golds. Thought I heard on here that Wojo was anti-baby blue or something as it is too close in color or reminded him of the Tar Heels but I that could have been BS. (don't remember seeing teal and of course everything on Scoop is absolute fact ;))  Would be cool for them to bust out some retros/throwbacks for some games especially considering our extensive cutting-edge, uniform legacy.

I think MU's jerseys are a good blend of the past with the present.
During the 1990s and 2000s I felt like there was a real identity crisis.
The jerseys are unique, not cookie cutter style with a change typeface.
They are good.
When the Nuggets unveiled their alternates a few years ago Marquette's were recognized as part of the inspiration.

If you have another option please post, but I think it would be a mistake to change for the sake of change?

Like the current jerseys as well, though the baby blues don't cut it with me.  Really not an MU color.  Stick with the dark blue, gold and home whites.

Nothing like being so retro you're progressive. The only way to one up our retro inspired jerseys is to go DEEPER into the past:

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Uniform designs follow patterns. MU and many other schools have been using the current design since 2007. Call this a hunch, but I believe that a forthcoming trend will be based on the Cincinnati Royals jerseys.

In 2011, Xavier took note and showcased their own version. At the time I hated it, but now it looks pretty good. I am not sure if they ever wore this design during a game.

In 2012, the Oklahoma City Thunder added an alternate jersey with a similar design.

This brings us to the MU jersey design from 1969-1972. It would need to be updated, but it fits the general template. Jerel even wore them for a photo shoot in 2007 or 2008.

Especially because they caused the team to lose every time they wore them on national television.

there were a lot of big vertical stripes around the time Marquette was using the jersey with the number in a circle.
Atlanta, Baltimore, Pacers, Nets, 76ers and Miami (ABA) with vertical stripes.  Buffalo and Portland also used the broad diagonal stripes.

Maybe we should go to Kentucky for inspiration.   They let us have Ellenson, maybe they will let us have a good uni design.

I like the color scheme we have. I think they mix our historical colors with a modern design. We need some consistency over a long period of time.

I have it on very good authority that the Ellenson commitment was a hoax, and that he'd never come to MU because he hates the design of MU's uniforms.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

1. it is what is - who cares
2. it doesn't matter - you are only one who feels this way
3. you are not much fun - wouldn't want to be at a party with you
4. it is not worth the time nor money to change uniform design (although I have no idea about how much time norr money)
5. uniforms don't matter anyway
6. apocalypse - our season will be lost because we won't redesign uniforms (sarcasm)
7 what we got is OK because Wojo OK'd them
8. I like them therefore don't mess with uniforms
9. uniforms do not make the player
10. what MU has is good enough - we don't need to try to be better - the Athl Dept knows best
11. My wife likes them so they are OK
12. Chuck Norris likes what we have and wears it

Seton Hall already tried that for one game back in the early 90s.  As you can imagine, they got mocked hard by fans and the media and the experiment lasted one game.

Forget the uniform design, we could start a whole new trend by bringing back the knee pads!
