One other question...

What are the typical salaries for players in the B league and A league? Do they get other benefits like housing and meals? I am just curious what Davante is making over there compared to the NBA or NBADL

(I know it is bad manners to discuss salary in France but we do it all the time with professional athletes in the USA  :))

I don't know very well but i think a good american player who plays in League A earns up 120 000 130 000 dollars maximum

For example, HTV have a payroll of 447 000 euros for this year ( it's one of the weakest of the division ). To divide with 10 professionals players...

In my opinion, Davante is one of the highest paid of the team. Maybe he earns between 50.000 - 70.000 dollars for one season .

Naturally, he has a housing lent by the club

For example, last year , ex NBA er Jawad Williams and Sean May earned 275.000 euros for one season with Paris Levallois = 22.900 euros per month . It was the best salary in League A, an exception ..

EDIT : but in France, a player is sure to have his salary at this end of the month. Different to countries like Spain, Italy , Greece ..

Players know the situation before signing a contract . Even if French league is not a the same level that Spain etc..

I believe most Euro teams also pay your taxes, but I could be wrong.

Hi everyone

Davante played three new games

against Provence Basket ( Leader's Cup ) lose 59-74 ( 6 points - 8 rebounds in 26 minutes )

lose @Orchies ( Pro B ) lose 64-82 ( 8 points - 4 rebounds in 25 minutes )

last game win against 90-85 Provence Basket ( Pro B )  ( 17 points 6/8 - 8 rebounds - 8 fouls drawn in  25 minutes )

Without fouls problem, Davante is very strong ,he's becoming accostumed to Euro rules. Great player really..

HTV is first on ranking of Pro B ( 4-1 ) Let's go !
Thank You for these updates. I am glad you are enjoying Davante. We wish he still played for Marquette!!

Big win against Nantes 75 - 62.

As usual, Davante was great ( 13 points 6/11 - 13 rebounds in 26 minutes ). At the end of the game, during the lap of honour, i told him " Automatic Automatic " and he smiled like " Ok I know what you mean "  ;D

HTV 5-1 !

Thanks TJ.  Love the "Lap of Honour".  The Beef Car taking a victory lap is like the blue Ribbon winning heifer being paraded at the state fair.

He seems very happy in his new team! Good chemistry with teammates.
His opponent for this game was the best forward of League B last year ( 19 points - 10,9 rebounds on average ) . Tonight, he only scored 2 points with 1/6  :o

So awesome!

Was the entire section chanting it?  I would love to see the French crowd chanting this on ESPN FS1 highlights.

When Davante was at the free throw line, the crowd would chant "Auto-matic, Auto-matic".

Pretty simple.

Here's a story about it.

To be sure, the stress is different when chanted.  When spoken it is au-to-MA-tic, but when chanted it would be au-TO--MAT-ic.

In French, I believe the stress always falls on the last syllable and so I guess in French the chant would be au-TO--ma--TIQUE (in English, uh-TOE--mah-TEEK)

On second thought, I just realized that I actually don't know anything about the phonology of French chanting.

An other win for HTV against Lille 86-54

Davante is really huge. Only 19 minutes on the floor, 18 points ( 6/8 ) - 5 rebonds .  Unstoppable in offense, i was impressed and great job on defense

Automatic chant works ! 6/6 on the free throw line

HTV 6/1 !

So if HTV wins the league is it like soccer where they move up to division 1?

Exactly , the first on ranking moves to League A and 2-9 ranking in playoffs for one ticket

Get used to it TJ - that's a very normal stat line for Davante.  Thanks for the updates.

Can anyone find video for TJ that shows the "automatic" chant?  I did a cursory search of YouTube and didn't come up with anything good.
Have some patience, FFS.
