Do you have a link? I can't seem to find anything about McQuaid being down to two. I hope y'all get him, he seems like a perfect fit for McDermmott's system.
Don't have one offhand as I don't really follow recruiting much but those are his only two scheduled visits since he decommitted from SMU and its a general consensus amongst those that follow recruiting in the Creighton community that this is the case.

Also, sounds like #62 Ed Morrow is a heavy lean to Nebraska. Don't think Creighton is really in on him anymore.

"We never wanted him anyways" is a little too obvious.  Up here in Wisco, the preferred phrase is "McDermott cooled on him."
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

ChitownSpaceForRent

I love how the Creighton fan has more of an understanding of how to use teal than most MU fans on this board.

I just reran some numbers on RSCI high school ranking vs a player being drafted by the NBA.

Once you get past the top 30 ranked or so there isn't much difference in the odds of a player rated top 50 of getting drafted and a player rated near the bottom of the top 100.

using years 1999-2010;
104 players ranked between 1-10 were drafted (86.7%)
72 players between 11-20 were drafted (60.5%)
47 players between 21-30 were drafted (39.8%)
29 players between 31-40 were drafted (24.4%)
22 players between 41-50 were drafted (18.6%)
21 players between 51-60 were drafted  (17.6%)
18 players between 91-100 were drafted (15.3%)  among them;  Gilbert Arenas, Emeka Okafor, Darren Collison, Draymond Green, Greivis Vasquez

Thanks, OW. I was gonna do it, but you saved me the trouble.

bilsu

I would think most of the 104 top 10 players were first round draft choices & probably lottery picks.
The break down would be more interesting if it was broken down into lottery picks, later first round and second round.

of the 104 top ten high schoolers, 46 were also top 10 NBA draft picks.  37 were taken 11-30,  the remaining 21 were 31-55.

No doubt "they" generally get it right with the top 10.  About 70% end up being first round draft choices.
But there doesn't really appear to be much difference of the success of the guys rated 40-100.

Great work. People say there isn't much difference between getting guys in the 30's versus 50's but look at it this way. But that is like hitting on 1 extra guy per roster. There's usually a reason guys are ranked higher and over the long-term, ranking does matter.

I believe the numbers actually prove the point. the difference from 40 to 100 is very slight. In 12 years that makes 120 players in each subset. In the 12 year case study 18 players were drafted from 91-100 and 22 players drafted from 41-50. 4 more players over a 12 year span, or 1 every 3 years. Proving the point there is a sharp drop off after the top tier recruits.

Here is an MSU article about its remaining targets.  http://www.mlive.com/spartans/index.ssf/2014/09/a_big_weekend_for_visits_and_m.html

Like the fact Swanigan is quoted as saying "[Izzo/MSU] really wanted to come on day one [of currently open recruiting period] to show that they are recruiting me the hardest, and that was really the message...."  Hope Henry understands that.

Article says Izzo also spent part of the first day checking in on 2016 forward prospect Nick Ward.

Wow. That would be a huge get for Lavinwood. Are we going to take an over/under on how long it takes for him to become ineligible and/or clash with the coach and go overseas?

Well since I started this little experiment. They are 5/7 on ESPN 100 recruits. Unfortunately, the only two times they got it wrong was when the prospect was projected to go to a BEast school
