Looks like Wojo is spreading the seed wide next year; offers Philly guard Levan Alston from Team Final in Haverford, PA.

Spreading it wide, but definitely focusing on athletic wings.

It is good to see him working hard, but it makes me nervous about him signing Ellenson and Cheatham who are the two I really want.

Why?

Because if Wojo was certain of getting Ellenson and Cheatham, he wouldn't be offering schollies to guys like Alston or Whitt.  If one of these guys accepts before Cheatham, then Cheatham presumable gets squeezed out.  Hopefully, Wojo keeps a scholarship open, no matter what, until Ellenson decides.

All of this assumes that Wojo isn't the type to oversign and then buzzcut which I don't recall being how they do things at Duke.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Got To read Helm's Autobiography  "This Wheel's on Fire"  much better than Graham Nash's bore.

I'll check it out, thanks. I just got done reading Phil Lesh's "Searching for the Sound" which I found to be pretty good.

I didn't read the book but, man, is he a legend! His most famous stuff was with Robertson and Danko but some of his best was with the Hawk.

It was more of a rhetorical question. I too am hoping for Ellenson and Cheatham, but I certainly hope that he is still recruiting others. Of course, he isn't certain of getting those two - they both still have several schools on their lists.

I think we are the leader for both, but I can remember many great all-Americans that we were the leaders for who didn't come here.

Had a lot of bitter feelings toward Robbie. He felt that Robbie channeled his southern style into a lot of songs where Robbie got all publishing rights and money.

Levon Helm was a GIANT. Graham Nash was ok.

My dad's name is Levon, of course that has nothing to do with The Band, or Levon Kendall (Pitt Panthers).

Levon is also a traditional Armenian name that originates from King Levon I (The Great) who ruled Armenian Cilicia in the 13th century.

Jay Bee

Long guard; I like watching him play. Thing, but can play. Reminds me a little bit of Eron Harris at the same age.

Shot very well (around 43%) from deep in EYBL regular season play.. we'll see how he does this week. Had some outrageous games (first 3 of the year he was 13/15 3FG).. had another string of 6 games in which 5 he was 0-for from deep (0/18 total).. but in one game of those six, he lit up McQuaid & GRANDSTAFF's team for 33 pts thanks in part to 7/11 3FG shooting. The homeboy Malachi had 28 in that one.

Nice looking player.. I've followed Malachi a bit for quite some time, but Alston really caught my eye this spring on numerous occasions. Word is Shawn.

I know this has been talked about...
But does anyone think we would have signed the older Ellenson if we didn't legitimately think it'd help us with Henry?
Just my random thinking at 1 am.
It's not about ME,
It's about US.

Yes. There are some that do. Some do not. I haven't see the kid play personally, but those who have seem to think that he is worthy of a scholarship, even without his younger brother. I trust their judgement.

Either way, I'm sure it was in the back of Wojo's mind when he extended the offer
