Just visited Barnes and Noble tonight and flipped through this book:

If you haven't picked it up and read through a few pages, you're missing out. Sure, it has some old SI articles, but the pictures and info are gorgeous.

I saw a couple of Marquette related items in the book - other than Wade in his MU glory on the cover!  :D :

- Al McGuire is mentioned among famous coaches and their signature plays. His was the triangle and two defense.
- Tex Winter was also mentioned in the section with his triangle offense.
- Dean Meminger was listed as one of the best names of his decade (70s): "Dream"
- I spied either Al or his brother in an old Knicks pic.
- Jimmy Mac makes an appearance: he is trying to block Kobe's driving attempt.
- Wade has two spreads: one regarding his NBA championship (from the same SI commemorative issue) and accompanying pic, and the other with one of his 0.8 second shots (two page spread).
- MU is highlighted ONCE during the 70s...Bo is playing against Indiana in their 1976 loss. I couldn't find one mention of the 77 championship, Al's retirement, nor the tuxedo packard photo.

I haven't had a chance to check out the Basketball Book but Sports Illustrated's Baseball Book is top notch.  Excellent articles and photos throughout the years.  I'm sure this one follows suit.
