I also like this player's spot on assessment of Marquette campus and community feel

from Aaron Falzon, a rising senior 6-foot-8 forward at Northfield Mount Hermon from Newton, MA.

"Now it was on to Marquette in Milwaukee, which is just about over an hour East of Madison. We arrived and we took a quick tour of facilities, and then we suited up, and played pick-up with current and former players from Marquette storied program, as well as our own member of NMH, Chris Sullivan '15 who is a 6-3 guard committed to Brown.

After many physical games, the guys at Marquette compete, we showered and then continued our tour of the urban school. The campus surprised us, on how much of a college community it felt like even though it was in the middle of a big city and a it is a beautiful college campus. Also on tour back to the facilities we learned about the legendary coach Al Maguire.

After the tour Coach [Steve] Wojciechowski sat down with us individually, and offered me and my teammate Josh Sharma scholarships. Coach Wojciechowski really emphasized how he wanted to bring Marquette back into the National Championship, and improve the already great tradition of excellence they have at Marquette, without sacrificing anything academically, as Marquette has a good balance of both. Leaving Marquette there was a feeling of excitement for the growth program conveyed by their experienced and great coaching staff. Go Golden Eagles!"

Is this dude blogging about his recruitment process or something? It sounds like he really enjoyed MU and I love hearing that Wojo is pitching our tradition followed by how he wants to get back there. Everyone has been saying that he has a plan so it's nice to hear what it actually is.

If he is blogging the process can you please provide a link so we can see what he says about other schools? Thanks
Bring back FFP!!!

Agreed, I would love to read more - seems like a thoughtful, nice kid.

The blog is hosted on Zagsblog.com (which if you dont follow him on twitter or read his blog you're missing a lot of great recruiting info).

Here is the link to the full article from above: http://zagsblog.com/recruiting/northfield-mount-hermon-tour-quartet-visits-marquette-wisconson-falzon-sharma-pick-up-marquette-offers/
But I like to throw handfuls...

His coach took them to UW, MU and Northwestern...kind of a college barnstorming.  Pretty cool idea.

My take away from the article is Madison has good food and MU is a basketball school. Seems like we make a better impression.

Josh Sharma is on that trip with them, and he is reportedly been a UW lean for some time.

GoldenWarrior11

It is clear that Wojo is really connecting with recruits.  More importantly, he is emphasizing getting Marquette back to a National Championship-level contender.

Thankfully, he isn't proclaiming hanging up banners for regular season conference championships.  ;D

This to me is big.  I remember freshman or sophomore year I heard Buzz say that a Final Four is more important to him than anything afterward.  I'm really excited to see if Wojo can live up to this plan.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Kinda funny that he can correctly spell Wojciechowski and not McGuire.

I'm going to guess that he's received a lot more letters from Wojo than he's received from Al.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

Seems pretty positive to me.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

We R Final Four

Your highlights read like Wiki----Legendary coach? Kid did his research....cuz he certainly came up with that opinion of MU on his own afternoon at MU.

Texas Western

I like the fact that we were one of the schools on the tour. The way I look at it that is four more kids who will put out the good word.

Why is that everytime a recruit says something nice about Marquette we think they don't really mean it and it secretly means that they aren't coming here? Gabe Levin talked about how much he liked our coaching staff and facilities and somehow we translated that to "thanks but no thanks."

Falzon enjoyed his visit, enough to blog some positive things about it. Wojo is hitting the trail hard and seems to be having some success.

Well I'm 26 so lets hope not. I am one of 4 boys (all of us went to MU) though so I understand the importance of a good meal.

I have it on good authority that Madison's players can't have cream cheese on their bagels. Point MU!
I have been thinking about you a lot since last weekend. A whole lot.

WellsstreetWanderer

Wait until they learn to add Nova lox, tomatoes and capers at MU. Delish!

I would be more excited if Diamond Stone was doing the talking about Wojo.

cheebs09

I really like that all the recruits mention that they really buy into Wojo's plan. I'm sure all coach's have a plan that they pitch, but I don't really see it mentioned this much. It's easy to see how Wojo blew them away in the interview.

He kind of strikes me as a manager coming in from outside an outside company and saying "We have to change this, this, and this in order to get where we want to be."

I'm ready for Marquette Madness to get here.

It's not just recruits. I have it on good authority that Cuonzo Martin was a solid frontrunner until Wojo's interview. Specifically I heard his "vision and plan" for Marquette blew everyone away. Cuonzo "removed himself from consideration" shortly afterwards.
